Yep, we were absolutely pathetic.
Yogi basically bullied our players all over the pitch and they looked terrified and devoid of ideas.

7/2/2016 Scottish Cup Round 5
Hearts 2 v 2 Hibernian
Cummings 80
Hanlon 90+1
Hibs looking down and out against their Premiership rivals famously came back from the dead to live to fight another day
In the first half it was HIBS who had the better of the early play with McGinn testing Neil Alexander with a drive and Stokesy heading just over from a corner
Things changed on the half hour however when Dylan McGeouch had to leave the field of play due to injury giving yet another HIBS debut to Kevin Thomson
Minutes later and Hearts were two up Djoum fired in an excocet that flew past Mark Oxley at a rate of knots following a poor clearance then Sam Nicholson brought down a Callum Paterson cross in the box on his chest and repeated the dose
Into the second half and HIBS showing true character started to dominate with Bartley bossing the midfield pegging Hearts back and Gunnarsson on for SDG went close with a header and Stokesy smashed one into the side net
Just when it looked as though all HIBS’ pressure would come to nothing Liam Henderson dinked in a cross and Jason Cummings sent in a looping header off his new gelled barnet up and over Alexander and in at his back post
HIBS continued to press for the equaliser and into stoppage time Alexander thought he had done enough at a corner when he repelled Darren McGregor’s header but Paul Hanlon was alive to the rebound and slid the ball home through a forest of legs Cue joyful celebrations in the School End
Hearts were not done however and in true Gorgie tradition the stoppage time came from nowhere Gunnarsson managed to clear a defensive header off his own crossbar and midfield dynamo Kevin Thomson managed to boot a last minute net bound Blazej Augustyn effort off the line
HIBS would win the Scottish Cup in this season

Armadale Thistle 1 v 0 Hibernian
Hibs were on the end of a Scottish Cup shock in this match
Although fielding a strong side - many of the HIBS team would go on to play in the 1923 and 1924 Scottish Cup Finals - HIBS were unable to make the most of the many chances created and Armadale scored the winner in one of their rare forays up the Park
Worth mentioning that this was a season of Cup shocks :
Armadale also saw off Clyde ( a decent side then) and Ayr United before losing out to eventual winners Kilmarnock who beat shock troops Albion Rovers ( who had knocked out the mighty Rangers in the semi final ) in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park in front of 96000 fans

Yes exactly 5 years on, hard to believe. Since that great game, season tickets significantly up, 2 seasons of European football, new owner, higher up the league than our rivals 4 seasons in a row and HSL getting bigger every year. Such an important result that day.
Oh, and we won the Scottish Cup too.

8/2/2014 Scottish Cup Round 5
Hibernian 2 v 3 Raith Rovers
Stanton
Nelson
The beginning of the end for Terry Butcher
Grant Murray brought his merry band to Easter Road a side that hadn’t scored a goal in 2014 full of ex Hibs players future HIBS players HIBS supporters and Ross Callachan
Moon gave Raith an early lead Sam Stanton then equalised with an exquisite strike off Ross Laidlaw’s left hand post from 20 yards
Callachan then hit the post but in reality it was a brilliant save by Ben Williams before HIBS supporting Dougie Hill put Raith ahead once again with a deft flick
Just before half-time Michael Nelson pulled HIBS back level with a fine header from a Liam Craig corner
Into the second half and Grant Anderson scored the winning goal half way through the half with what looked like a backward head-flick that seemed to deceive Williams all ends up
Hibs would win their next League match against Ross County but would not win another game until their first leg Premier Play-Off game at Hamilton

This replay on Wednesday 8th February saw a terrific crowd of 24000 at the Holy Ground and the old war horse Johnny Halligan scored the only goal of the game with six minutes to go to give the HIBS support something to celebrate

It was a sad shocked Hibernian who played Dumbarton at the Holy Ground. The green Flag was lowered to half mast a minutes silence was observed and the players wore black arm bands in memory of the late legendary Manager Dan McMichael
The match had to be played and was played in a subdued atmosphere and was won when Horace Williams latched on to a poor goal kick from the Dumbarton goalkeeper and he dispatched the ball into the vacant net

The 7-0 Livi game I was in a meeting near San Francisco. I'm sure everone wondered what I was up to fiddling below the table with my mobile, honest! First time I've seen the goals, thanks!! What a team of legends!

Thing I most recall of that disaster of a cup tie against Raith Rover was the look on Calum Booths face who was on loan at Raith Roves that day.It was a mixture of “TF I’m not playing for these no hopers” and “how bad am I that I can’t get a game here.
Always liked Booth, but he was another in the long list of young players at ER whose potential was never realised.Appears to now have a gig at St Johnstone as an unused sub.

The 7-0 Livi game. I remember it as unbelievably cold. We sat in the Famous Five, in the padded seats. Almost unbearable.

I'm sure that Mickey Weir winning goal v Aberdeen was a header at the back post! Vaguely remember it through the copious amounts of alcohol usually consumed on the way to Pittodrie. 6am start in the pub in Alloa and a stop at a wee place called Fordoun for a bar lunch and a pool and darts competition. Bladder was much more controllable way back then!

An entertaining draw at Tannadice
United took the lead from the penalty spot when Boozy shoved over Willo Flood in the penalty box as he was about to score with a header
John Rankin equalised just after half-time with a volley that bounced in front of the keeper before United Manager Craig Levein had taken his seat in the dugout

Joe McBride Jnr made his debut in this game and what an impact the winger had laying on three of the five goals
Gordon Durie who had been struggling to adjust to the pace of the Premier League justified his potential by scoring his first hat-trick for the club
‘Juke Box’ would go on to score 22 goals from 58 appearances bursting into life in his second season showing pace, power, strength, directness, good in the air and an astute user of the ball
He would be sold to Chelsea for a then record fee £381000 for both clubs

Hibernian 3 v 2 Morton

Macleod 2
Relegation haunted HIBS faced a daunting task against a good going Morton side at Easter Road
The fans were in for a shock as they took their seats - positions on the terraces- as the PA announced that number 11 would be Willie Murray and not George Best
Hibs however thrilled their fans with a magnificent display Ally Macleod scoring two and man of the match Willie Murray opening the scoring when he headed home a MacLeod corner.
Joe McLaughlin and Bobby Thomson scored for Morton
Images from the game on Twitter show the sparse crowd of 5400 sheltering under umbrellas and Jim McArthur to be in sparkling form
Drookit fans were allowed to shelter under the Cowshed for free
It transpired that Best was not injured just simply AWOL

Also a brief glimpse of Kevin Nisbet & Euan Murray ( linked with us in last window) scoring. Re Mallan, it looked like he had a pretty free role there, almost a #10. Not sure why we ever tried to turn him into a deep lying playmaker.
