The survey is over 3 months old, so things may have changed.

    From that report, though:-

People in France were the least likely to get vaccinated out of all fifteen countries surveyed, with the average amount of people in favour of vaccination at 73%.

Other countries included India (87%), China (85%), the UK (79%), Germany (69%) Italy (65%), Spain (64%) and the US (64%), amongst others.
Heard on the news tonight in the UK 18-24 age bracket only 24% will take the vaccine #theinvincibles

Govt seem pretty confident that all over 50’s in the UK will be vaccinated by mid-March.

We’ll know before then if this stops transmission of the virus?
We know that the Govt are already commenting on allowing the virus to naturally run through the under 50’s until they are vaccinated.

This is hugely positive news this morning.

Source? Last time I noticed they were expecting the over 50s to be complete by June.

Once over 50s and moderate vulnerable are vaccinated over 99% of hospitalisations gone. Over 35 million by mid march would be fantastic and only a month or so after until everyone getting first jag if over 4,000,000 a week

That would be fantastic wouldn’t it. We’ll know so much more about the vaccine by then too, if it does everything that it’s hoped then I’m still flummoxed why there would need to be restrictions?

    Suppose it depends on how you define a credible newspaper but;

Dr Mike Tildesley on BBC Breakfast appears to be fairly relaxed about any new variants appearing and says, if required, the vaccines could be tweaked in a matter of weeks rather than months.

There's still no confirmation that the existing vaccines are any less effective on the new variants but work is underway.

That would indeed be great news. (Not least for me; I have just crept over 50 myself). But Over promising and under delivering is what this Govt does, particularly on testing, so I’d want to wait and see...

Still lagging behind a bit. Need to improve those figures.

Nor me, I just meant that what is classed as a credible newspaper is very subjective.

I don't think the issue is tweaking the vaccines, as you say they can be tweaked in weeks. The issue would be you'd have to start the whole vaccination process all over again as the previous vaccine would be redundant.

If the Euro's was to get cancelled. Every team that is in it year this year should be automatically qualified into Euro 2024.
Talksport reporting today that Uefa are looking at staging some games behind closed doors and some with partial crowds depending on the severity of/rate of progress in overcoming the pandemic in the host nations. At present all 12 host cities are in lockdown or under curfew. I guess this is behind the move to offer refunds to fans who have bought tickets. Allowing fans/media etc to travel to numerous countries at a time when we will (hopefully) be just starting to take our first steps out of this crisis does seem unwise. Ditto the Olympics.

The BBC's look at today's newspaper front pages shows that that story is also in the Metro, Mail and Standard. Surely if it's true then it's simply great news?

And then when you’re half way through vaccinating with the new vaccine it could mutate again and we’re back to the start again....!??

Don't think so. My wife was at the dentist on Wednesday. They were chatting long term being open like going back to regular appointments albeit without the scrape and polish.

Great news that the Govt have created a target?

Achieving a target is good news, reaching a difficult target is great news. Why anyone thinks this Govt will reach any target they set for themselves is a tricky one for me but the simple setting of one being hailed as "great news" shows how little great news is around.
