You can be happy that they've done this but at the same time realise it's another disaster from this Government.

The stress and anguish millions of people would have went through over the past few months must have been horrendous not knowing if they'd have a wage come December. It's not hyperbolic to suggest people would have taken their own life due to the stress and worry. And then you have everyone made redundant prior to 23rd September being left on the scrap heap.

If they had done long term planning, a ridiculous notion for this government I know, all of that could have been avoided.
They do, even when they have a decent story to tell, have a remarkable ability to turn diamonds into dust by screwing up the substance or the messaging or, more usually, both.

The Wales firebreak doesn't seem to be having the desired effect as they still have the highest rate of infection in the UK with just 3 days left to go.

Schools, nurseries and universities are exacerbating the problem, yet there remains a stubborn refusal to deal with this.

Until this is addressed then I see no substantial improvement in the situation.

What’s the answer though? Stop kids going to school and deprive them of their education?

Universities is probably a different story I think.

Are testing figures not available until 2pm, or was it announced at the start of the Briefing?

Yep really encouraging to see the positivity rate dropping and the hospital numbers in decline for 2 days in a row.

Sturgeon always reads it out after giving the number of cases.

Those figures are published at 2pm but it's usually about 20,000 odd.

Dividing the number of new cases by the positivity rate will give you a rough number for the amount of tests carried out.

    1072/5.5% = ~19500

Seventy per cent of Coronavirus infections are in the age groups up to 29 years in this city.

Universities is probably a different story I think.

I have a feeling that the schools side of thing is largely to do with enabling parents to get to work.

I think the approach to Universities was a mistake, and driven purely by money.

Great numbers coming out of Falkirk, 7 day rate is falling enormously and the hospital numbers are down 20% compared with this time last week.

Looking forward to being in level 2 soon.

Looks as though we are well below what is required to make it to level 2, if the weekly average is under 75 you could say there is a case for level 1 as well but can't see that happening unfortunately
