    The bootstrap cook

I see a load of sentient hams on here think they can do my job today, cobbling together and costing an omelette. Pity they left out the price of rent, gas, a cooker, a pan, oil, salt, pepper, plates, lighting, the mental health cost of self care, and a ****ing knife and fork.

What has Alex Salmond done that you think he failed in parliament?

    Genuine question.
I think you know I was referring to Salmond's lawyer's description, during the court case, of his behaviour. You said all leaders apologise for their predecessors so has Sturgeon apologised for Salmond's behaviour? She may have done so, I never paid that much attention to the trial at the time or the comments afterwards. If she didn't it supports my case that Starmer really won't be held to account for anything in Labour pre-2015 before he was elected. If she did, I'll need to find a new example...

I stand corrected. That's what I get for re-watching the entire box set of the West Wing as my current pandemic escapism.
I’m still tempted to buy the box set again (an ex won that in the custody battle). Greatest series of all time.

Alex Salmond didn't do anything wrong, in parliament, therefore no apology required.

Tony Blair and Iraq on the other hand! Still looking for the WMD

In parliament. Get it right. How can anyone be expected to apologise for another persons behaviour in private?

A party leader has to apologise for the actions of their predecessors in parliament, not outside, otherwise the next tory leader will be awfy busy.

It would be highly inappropriate for Sturgeon to apologise for anything Samond did based on what his advocate said, particularly given he wasn't convicted.

Is it not slightly rich to now accuse someone else of whataboutery when it was your fine self who brought up Sturgeon/Salmond as a response to someone suggesting Starmer should apologise for Blair?

The heart warming UK wide reaction to Rashford's campaign from businesses, councils and the general population says more about the real attitudes of the British people than any Tory MP ever could. Never forget that the majority of the electorate did not vote for them. There is hope moving forward.

I see the tories have dropped the salary cap from 35k to 25k for migrant workers. Some of the threads I have seen on FB are hilarious with Tory voters shocked and indignant at the prospect.

I see Willie Rennie is going full tory (or is it Labour) in his accusations that the first minister has blamed English people for the second wave of coronavirus, even though she said nothing of the sort.

He really is coming across like he hates Sturgeon, I've noticed he comes out with stuff like that on a fairly regular basis. In the discussion Sturgeon also included the fact people in Scottish areas also shouldn't travel, including to low infection areas within England. Don't know how trying to protect English folks is anti-English.

He’s trying to win some of the WATP Tory vote. They’ll not pick up votes from anywhere else.

Edit: Now that’s how you go off-topic but rein it back in!

Empty plates left outside the local Tory HQ and Con Club after Southend West MP voted against feeding children most at risk of going hungry. @BorisJohnson https://t.co/zQcN3ufF0s

Keir Starmer has said Labour will force another vote on this before Xmas. I think there will be a Tory u-turn before that happens.

I’ve just heard a Tory MP, Tim Naughton I think, ex children’s minister, say they’ve given ‘213 Billion pounds’ to help feed schoolchildren This figure hasn’t been challenged by the interviewer. He repeated the figure throughout the interview three times, clearly been briefed to parrot big meaningless numbers. In need of a fact check.

Think he's just mixing up his billion pound beneficiaries.

It'll be their pals in the Track & Trace industry and all the ones who've been awarded PPE contracts without any scrutiny that will have had the £213bn given.

    Easy mistake to make.
