Travellers from Andorra, Belgium and The Bahamas will need to quarantine for two weeks on their arrival into Wales as of midnight tonight.

No announcement yet from any other part of the UK but it's expected they'll announce the same very soon.
I know this is serious stuff but it tickles me about the impact on the Welsh economy should Andorrans face discouragement from travel to Cymru

No disrespect to the fine people of Wales or Andorra!
There's only one thing better than a Hibs calendar and that's two Hibs calendars

Just Wales who are going with midnight tonight apparently. Rest of the UK is introducing the quarantine from 4am Saturday.

Good news for the thousands of people travelling back to Edinburgh from their all inclusive trip to Andorra tomorrow.

I hadn’t realised the Aberdeen players had been out at a pub and caught the virus. Are they allowed to do that? I thought all players had to remain in their own bubble.

Not sure but even if they were allowed to go to the pub they have probably broken the rules for the general population.

Unless a lot of them stay together, the current rules on indoor gatherings allow up to 8 people across three different households to meet in indoor settings which includes pubs and restaurants.

Bubble is kind of the wrong word. They’re in a very controlled environment when they’re training and playing but it’s not a bubble in the way the England cricket team were away from families in a hotel leading up to, and for the duration of, their test matches.

You can’t control what they do all the time. Technically, they’ve probably not done anything wrong but you can bet their club won’t see it that way.

Thanks, you’d think the players would have a bit more common sense.

I've already posted about this on the main forum but thought this thread was the best one for my question:

I went for a bar meal for the first time in five months yesterday and was quite frankly shocked by the disregard for the current rules and recommendations in place to help prevent the spread of Covid.

This isn't something I'd normally do but, seeing as people's lives and livelihoods are at stake here...

Does anybody know what the procedure is for reporting this?

Reporting it to your local council EHO and Licensing Standards departments would be the starting point.

I would maybe speak to the site management first though, it may be that a duty manager was running the shift and the manager isn’t aware. You have to remember that the livelihood of the staff there would be at risk too. Give them a chance to sort it first, but let them know you’ll escalate it if they don’t?

    Sounds fair enough. Cheers.

Sturgeon is pretty much furious with Aberdeen players.

Compulsory for hospitality venues to collect personal data from 14th August.

  25. #16614
No TVs or background music allowed, queuing banned and people not standing at bars.

  26. #16615
Face coverings compulsory from tomorrow for places like libraries and places of worship. Full list on the government website soon.

Face visors can no longer be worn on their own, must be worn with a mask or another type of covering.

I never saw it, what's the rationale behind the TVs and music? To make pubs less attractive to go to as in going to watch a game there?

It’s to stop people having to shout to be heard, the idea being that droplets travel a further distance when you do so.

  29. #16618
Given that over the last few weeks we normally see a jump in new cases towards the end of the week I actually think those numbers are fairly positive. I'd assume testing is most aggressive in the Aberdeen area so it's perhaps fairly encouraging that there has been a drop in numbers since yesterday and could suggest the swift action has brought things under control.

The compulsory collection of data should have been in place from day 1 but I suppose better late than never applies here. The TVs and music makes sense. Frustrating but a minority in the industry have spoiled it for the rest.
