Defending has been woeful. Hanlon bullied all game by Klimara. If we don't strengthen the defence were going to regret it. Doig the only one of them getting passmarks here.

Its only a friendly and weve got half a team out. There will probably only be 2 or 3 of these at the most in with a chance starting next week

Good run out. Plenty to work on. Would expect only 3/4 from that starting 11 to start v Killie.

We've been poor this half. The team is obviously a good bit away from our first choice 11 so I wouldn't worry too much, though some of the defensive play from the more senior guys is all too familiar.
I wonder how many of the back three playing today will play on Saturday.

At a push I’d say Hanlon. But you’d think we’d have given whoever is going to play a run out together. I wonder if we did that on Saturday.

I'd have thought Nesbit would have played a bit today

Hanlon put in about 6 or 7 defensive headers, and at least 4 or 5 important tackles. He was poor for the 3rd goal.

Only caught the last 20 minutes after work, yes again poor defensively from hibs in the period I watched.

Dabrowski and Doig looked able to play first team if asked upon.

Looking like from these bounce games, jack ross is going back to 1 up top again 🙄

Some positives and obviously just a run out but defensively all over the shop. I hope we've got a couple of decent defenders in mind to come in as it looked very similar to the ropey defending of last season.. The celtic strikers have had the freedom of Celtic Park second half.

Liked the look of Doig and thought Horgan looked busy..although he could have done better with final ball/finishes. Other than that don't think anyone else really shone.

I know you could argue every goal you lose is a bad goal, but we seem to lose more than our fair share through poor defending, the first and third in particular today. Hopefully today won’t be repeated as the season goes on.

Just seem unable to get the ball out when put under the slighest attacking pressure in the middle of the park, same old, same old I am afraid.

Not sure the thinking on that team given we are playing for real on the 1st,

I’d be surprised if it’s as much as that. The 2 cbs are the only ones with a chance of starting. If that’s the shape we’re playing the team apart from the centre halfs picks itself

Jesus Christ it’s only a friendly?

That hibs team probably isn’t anything close to what we’ll be playing on Saturday

The reaction to losing a friendly has been pretty OTT

I think we will go with Doig. Assuming we are going with 352. But i havent seen our shape in other games.

I wouldn't be so sure, it was a 3-4-3 at times with Horgan and Gullan, then Shanley up top.

Didn't feel like it was 1 up unless we'd gone a long stretch without the ball, which happened a few times today.

Couple of thoughts on the game/players

Dabrowski - Impressive performance. Quick off his like, couple of good saves and good with the ball at his feet

Doig - Can’t be far off from starting? Bags of energy, sharp and a great cross. Liked what I saw.

Stirling - Dont think he’s a right wing back but he was solid defensively and good on the ball, doesn’t offer much going forward. Right back or defensive mid for me.

Murray - Poor. So so weak on the ball and slow imo. I want him to succeeed but I just don’t see it.

Hallberg - Playing against younger opposition is expect so much more. Hardly touched the ball and never really seemed to get close to his man.

Luka O’Connell for Celtic looked really good when he came on imo.

I'd be playing Porto or Daz ahead of Jackson. Wasn't great at all today.

Thought Doig looked really good! Same with Dabrowski. Hadn't seen either play before. So pleased with that.

Horgan played well too. Could be pushing for a start with performances like today and that goal against Aberdeen.

Based on today I’d be very happy with that, just assumed Stevenson would play

Plenty positives we were very good first half. Doig looks good, Horgan played well. Mallan and Murray a good first half but drifted, good for Mallan to get 90 mins. Dabrowski looked good as well IMO, actually thought Hanlon was decent as well. Good run out overall and some very encouraging passages of play disappointing goals to concede as well though, first goal we just slightly overplay but that can happen when we want to play a good style. Overall encouraged and looking forward to next week

We played the other players against Aberdeen on Saturday so I think it makes sense that we split the squads, given the proximity of the games.

    Must have missed them

Either way I stand by what I said. Been saying it since last season.

Jackson was a bit part player at Barnsley and apart from a couple of decent games last season, he's decidedly average, if we want to improve we need better than players like him. Our central pairing will be Ryan and Hanlon.
jackson was solid when he came into the team last season and chipped in with a fair few goals.

Probably why Hibs didn’t bother tweeting about the other bounce games we had.

Even still that is only 1 centre forward, I thought we looked good when we went 3-4-1-2 last season and we all seen what happened when Doidge finally got a partner up top with him. Not having a go at your post i just feel a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 dont work for us, both hecky and jack ross has tried this and it never worked.
