Hearts will only have 13 home games this season but they have guaranteed their fans 18 with their season ticket and have said that will go into next season if need be. It means their season tickets next season will be discounted big time for existing season ticket holders.

I was thinking about this. Premier league clubs will have matchday costs but no matchday income. Sure, our season ticket money is in and we have that but they will have to provide us, at some cost, with a viewing experience via media of some description.

Championship clubs will be sitting with their season ticket money and no matchday costs until October so ironically will actually save money, won’t they?

Top league clubs will have TV and other associated income, Hearts will be paying their squad to train for most of that, then playing in a league that, for now at least, has no TV deal.
