What a clown. I see McNulty has liked it.
I love that the first comment is someone pointing out he was ranting about people sitting in a park enjoying the sun a few weeks ago.

Cummings will go. The amount of anger over this is absolutely huge and I doubt even Boris and Cummings can ride this out.

Didn’t like Bellew when he was fighting but now like him even more now he’s retired. He thinks he’s some sort of voice for the people on social justice. A total knob.

Watching Tory after Tory having to spin the party line today is glorious viewing. You can actually see them almost choking on the lies they've been ordered to spout. Hell mend them all.

I absolutely despise them all so much now.

When members of SAGE, Tory backbenchers and The Daily f'in Mail pubically slate him, you know he is in trouble. The damage they are all doing to the party is immeasurable, save from an enormous turnaround.

They will probably be "instructed " not to pursue it .
    Hopefully I'm wrong.
Not so sure the ex Durham chief constable was on BBC and was basically saying Cummings was lying so expect they will try and get to the truth re Barnard castle

This just gets better and better. Education Secretary Gavin Williamson says Cummings couldn’t have done anything wrong because he assured the PM he hadn’t and nobody would lie to the Prime Minister.
Former Prime Minister Theresa May sacked Williamson because she was sure he had lied to her.

22 days of dither and delay on coronavirus that cost thousands of British lives

Scientists, politicians, academics and advisers reveal the inside story of ministers’ desperate battle with the virus before the country finally locked down

    https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/t...ives-05sjvwv7g

This is absolutely damning. The Imperial College and other modelling teams had the hundreds of thousands of deaths numbers weeks before we previously thought but Johnson, Whitty, Vallance and the rest poo-pooed them even as thousands were dying in Italy and Spain. Even when the direction finally shifted to lockdown, Johnson sat on his hands and dithered about for a week bottling out of the key decisions.

He has tens of thousands of deaths on his hands.

Scotland and Nicola Sturgeon aren't mentioned at all in this report and I guess it will all come out in the end but wtf was going on? Was she hoodwinked by "the science", just not brave enough to have our own strategy or did she agree and endorse what they did?

I think SG were too slow and too fearful to set a different path. It was clear NS wanted to move quicker at the time. Lack of powers, fiscal and legal plus a lack of political courage probably the reason we never went quicker.
Care homes is another massive mistake.

Pretty unusual. He’s not elected. It’s his elected boss that should be facing questions.

I was just going to post the same thing. Hopefully this is just an isolated outbreak but it does seem to tie in with the timeframe of the VE Day celebrations.

The video was not made by SNP, SG or STV. It was made by one of the parents and was shared round social media. STV made a mistake in sharing it on their social media and deleted it.

I never said they made it but it was released and the subject is perception...surely you can't be defending using children like this...and apparently I am not alone who perceived that video as inappropriate

Yes, I posted about that yesterday and Sir David Gray helpfully posted the link thereafter. It does provide reassurance and perspective.

Good article on BBC website this morning by their health correspondent Nick Triggle ('how scared should you be...') which gives some perspective on chances of dying from the disease compared to the likelihood of dying from other causes. Probably decent reading for anyone living in constant worry, which will be a lot of folk I expect!

Sorry, tried to post the link but I can't.

Here you go, anything to try and post some good news and to also try and get the thread back on topic again!

I read it this morning and it does give some much needed perspective.

It's incredible, an unelected adviser giving a public statement and taking questions??

This is evidence that Cummings is actually de facto Prime Minister of the UK.

With each passing day I become more disillusioned with this country. (UK)

Really? If you're worried about your unhealthy or frail loved ones, where's the reassurance in that?

Currently the government is asking 2.5 million people to completely isolate themselves. This includes people who have had organ transplants, are having cancer treatment and those with severe respiratory disease.

On top of those, there are more than 10 million people who fall into higher risk groups. These include all the over-70s and people with health conditions ranging from diabetes to heart conditions.
I would bet that the vast majority, if not all of us, have loved ones who fall in those categories.

As soon as they've emailed the questions over to Laura, presumably?

"Dominic, just how amazing is your integrity?"
