What do you get if you cross Marcel from Friends and Bernard Langer?

St Mirren have developed into a decent looking side, far better than Hearts, reckon they'll take at least 4 out of the 6 points.

But I reckon Hamilton will finish bottom, can't see them pulling away with the games they have left.

Hope it's Dundee they face in the play offs. Can you imagine Robbo and ICT sending them down? He would bottle it.
Dundee with Berra scoring the winner.

He's on loan so probably not eligible.

Being honest, and it sounds dirty saying it, but I don’t want Hearts relegated.

In a perverse way, Hibs going down allowed us to sweep out the deadwood and comeback much stronger. I’d much rather that Hearts escaped relegation by the narrowest of margins so that the begin next, and subsequent seasons, constantly struggling in the top flight. Relegation would mean wholesale changes and they might abandon the messiah that is Stendal. I don’t want that, I want them to just be potential relegation fodder, because that’s funnier.

Butcher taking us down was horrid but it allowed a rebirth. Hearts shouldn’t be afforded that opportunity

Took us three years to get ‘much stronger’. And we’re still a mid table team. Relegation will cost them millions and recovery is not guaranteed.

    Where are you getting 11/2?

That would be the worst book in history... 8/11 and 11/2 with presumably bigger the rest 😂

I’m seeing 8/11 accies, 5/2 hearts and 7/2 st mirren.
SkyBet. Although they seem to be quite out of line with the other major bookies... They have Hamilton at 1/3. Fill your boots, folks!

But they have had one go at it already, and this is the result. What's the chances they would do the same thing again?

I agree with you.... I want Hearts to stay up but only after penalties in a play off to make them sweat. I love the derby's plus we can't afford to do without the revenue they generate

It would be a disaster for them. No big games down there next season like there was when we were down. Would also be surprised if everyone kept their monthly direct debits going. Hearts fans seem to hate everything about their club at the moment with the exception of Stendil who plenty of them love for reasons unknown.

Seeing them have a right sweaty season will be enough as long as Hamilton go. However fate might already have them down.

This----United are coming up, and if Dundee make it thru the play-offs, where are the big crowds going to come from?
Dunfermline, Raith and Falkirk will be the 'big' attractions.
They'll likely get out of the Championship OK though

I think they’ll be safe. They’ve got a wee bit more quality than the other two IMO.

Two way fight between Hearts and Hamilton for 11th now IMO. Which is ideal as I’d like them both relegated.
Never really showed though did it when they struggled to a 2-2 draw with an injury hit down to 10 men Hamilton?

"we won’t get relegated. It’s a rut that no one wants to be in, but the only teams who are genuinely better than us are Celtic and Rangers. Everyone one else is literally crap"

I wonder if relegation will bring further chaos. For starters they will lose whatever decent players they have, other than the youths.

I would like to see Hearts turning up at Easter Road on Tuesday coming off the back of a 6-0 or 6-1 humping by Rangers

That would put the cat among the pigeons in the derby build-up...

I’m talking about St Mirren having more quality. Hence why I said it’s a two way fight between Hearts and Hamilton for 11th.

Our fans didn’t get back onside till we won the cup. Had we not then our crowds would have continued below the 10k mark. Relegation will be a disaster for them as it was for us.

You're correct that the cup win gave a great boost to our crowds but our support stayed pretty loyal in our 3 years down under. In our 1st year in Championship average crowds were higher than the prior 2 years & we had our highest individual attendance for 20 years. Incredibly also, our lowest league attendance was higher than for many of the years preceding it & was higher than any of our lowest attendances in the 60s, 70s & 80s. That I'm sure has something to do with the current methodology of including season tickets in the attendance figures but regardless our fans pretty much stuck with us. Where relegation really hurts financially is in the dishing out of TV money.

  21. #4550
I don't think their crowds would go down too much to be honest, provided they're winning games. If they toiled in the championship which I doubt they would then that's a different story

Let them squirm in purgatory for at least 3 seasons
They got very fortunate last time with the 15pt deduction that led to relegation
THey deserved then to meet the same fate as the team formerly known as Rangers

They lived way beyond their means for years going back to Mercer, pie man etc.
Romanov continued that and then some

Time they really paid for their past sins !!

It is in their own hands.

They have to play St Mirren twice and Hamilton once. They're only 2 points behind Hamilton with a game in hand.
And St Mirren are 6 ahead with a better goal difference of 9 goals. Hearts would still be 11th if they beat them twice and beat Hamilton and the results were matched elsewhere.

Iv no idea how they would get on in the Championship. I imagine they would want to rip it all up and start again like we did. That may take more than a season to build. And would they keep their saviour Stendil? Who knows, but its certainly pleasing.

A Hearts fan described their core support recently as "aged die-hards, along with a weird, bigoted bunch of tcheucters". He also admitted to us that most of the younger, potential fans around Edinburgh gravitate to Hibs and their own offspring aren't too enamoured with visits to Tiny.

If they go down they could lose out on a lot of season tickets from those older fans who could just pass on another season down. I don't think they are in good place with their demographic, which is a big change given how loyal they've been.

What are the odds on Budge insisting that Potter does the team talk before Tuesday's game?

If der Daniel gets them humped on Saturday and is emptied I fully expect Potter to be in the dugout

When did they change their name to Basement Boys Hearts? Not quite as catchy as adding Greenock to Morton

Remember when Oldco Rangers beat us 7-0, we beat Hearts 2-1 the following week.

In 2015/2016 as our league form fell off a cliff in the 2nd half of the season, our crowds at Easter road were absolutely terrible. There was no way we could have sustained our budget another year if we had not won the cup. Thankfully we did and crowds grew way beyond expectations but it was touch and go for a while.
