I dont think he ever bought into Hibs in the way Gray, McGinn etc did, it seems he was just an employee doing his job, I never felt a connection with him.

You’re entitled to your opinion of course, but you are just projecting your own feelings onto another individual here.

Mentioned this on other threads, but we didn't miss out to Aberdeen - Dylan would have signed for Hibs if we'd been interested. Ross told him he wanted a different type of midfielder, and Dylan took Aberdeen's offer after that. He also knocked back Hearts, by the way - they wanted to speak to him but he didn't entertain them.

    Well said matty_f

We were not interested when his agent was touting him all over Scotland.

This was clearly pointed out many times by others more ITK than I.

"..Teh Budget.." "..Ron Oot.." .."A legend treated poorly.." or my personal favorite: "Hecky and oor budget"

Arguments we shall, no doubt, see rehearsed ad nauseam in varying degrees of lucidity should we dare not sign Sparky or Stokes before the 19th of January. [PETRIE ]

It is really so hard to believe our recruitment team/new gaffer simply said "nah, sorry fam, we require better players/different positional players" - they are the professionals after all.

Let's give Jack a chance to stamp his authority on the team.

Too much surmising, speculation and downright porkies going on regarding this player so I don't expect too many ***** to get bitten. The flights of imagination that take place on here are truly astounding.

He better hope this different type of midfielder is top class because this is a really big error from Ross imo.

Hecky made the same one and then signed Vela.

Admin - why blank out the word that you left uncensored in 90+2's post?

He doesn’t have to be top class, though it would be nice, he needs to be good at the role he’s being asked to do and available for selection the majority of the time. I suspect whoever it is tho they won’t be good enough for some because he isn’t their darling Dylan.

I’ll wait and see how McGeouch does for Aberdeen and how many games he misses through niggling injuries.

McGeough is class........the Aberdeen manager knows it

Astonishing if our manager wasn't interested in signing him

He often outshone John McGinn in our midfield and our current midfielders (Mallan, Vela, Slivka and Hallberg) couldn't lace McGeough's boots

    Farrago

    Spot on.

I don’t actually, have posted a number of times I think he is a talented footballer. However I’ve never understood the adulation he gets and felt his actual contribution was overrated by many.

Including our players of the time who voted him their player of the year ahead of McGinn, Allan et al.

When Allan and McGeough were at the heart of our midfield we played some great football some weeks. We were often very soft the next.

Mcgeouch is a teams brain, but we lack spine.

I'll trust JR on this one.

He must know the player well. Probably not what we need right now and injury prone. Never really cut it on Wearside. Besides the guy that went to Aberdeen from S****horpe that we wanted hasn't exactly set the heather on fire either.

I'd rather have Marvin back. Bung Livi £50k. He's more of what we need right now.

I may be wrong but I dont think we were out bid. We had an offer accepted and then the club who released him found they hadn't, as his contract ran longer than end May. Ojo then got in a dispute with them. When he was freed, suddenly there was interest from Aberdeen who was then in a position to ask how much Hibs had offered him and then beat it. Having agreed a contract with the player he then chose not to honour it. In my book not a bidding war. I hope his run of poor form and injury continues, that would be karma.

Not panicking. Hibs have (apparently) turned down a player who would walk into our side and he's joined a rival. Really disappointing, especially because he is (or should be at least) loved among our fan base.

McGinn was, and is a far better and far more consistent player than McGeoch. McGeouch's better than the ones we've got in just now but he was nowhere near the class of John McGinn and to say other wise is complete nonsense. McGinn was a good player at St Mirren, an excellent player at Hibs and an excellent player at Aston Villa both in the Championship and the EPL. McGeouch doesn't come anywhere close to that.

Think that’s a good summary..I would add though that imo McGeough performed better in their last season together with us...SJM has gone on to a completely different level now.

Allan said so much in a recent interview that SJM made him and Dylan look good

We don't check every post for inappropriate language, the filter picks them up automatically.

Was it really worth the post about it, in bold?

I'm guessing it didn't cost too much either in terms of effort or money.
