Do they actually realise they have a £400,000 budget deficit??

Can see Livi and Utd selling their strikers to them.....NOT!

They really don’t get it. They have no cash but I am aware that has never stopped them in the past!

Much like they convinced themselves that they 'owed it to themselves' back in the day, I think there's an expectation with some of them that their sugar daddy will cover whatever xmas wish list their fevered imaginations compile. When the transfer window slams down on their fingers at the end of Jan, reality is going to bite hard. It hasn't yet sunk in that even the good Mrs Doctor has said they need to ship players out before any sort of kitty for new players is available. I don't see any of them being willing to ditch their lucrative contracts, and pay-offs will negate any savings. They are in a total lose/lose situation... and it's pure dead brilliant

In the days where they paid Skacel, Nade etc hyper inflated wages they were at least a decent team. I’m at a loss as to how they’ve gotten it so wrong.

An absolutely massive squad and their only decent player is on a four year deal and can barely play 45 minutes before breaking down. The rest are championship level.

If they go down they’re not coming back up.
I hope you're right but I think they'd come straight back up. That Championship is so bad Dundee United are romping it

Expectation.... that’s the word I was looking for.... they expect money for players regardless of any deficit and they don’t and never will get it.
Players out before players in.... nah ram that just get the money we don’t have out and get players in.

    Loving it. Just loving it

No chance. Their squad is as bad as Dundee and before they can realistically go about changing it, they need to shed 8-9 players before they can bring in enough to change it.

Their squad is swamped with uncreative, unfit journeymen who aren't suited or who aren't ready for Scottish Premiership football.

They'd be mid table championship - at best. Two wins in twenty-six games doesn't lie.

Circumstances are totally different this time. They went into that campaign with a squad of youngsters blooded in the top league owing to the transfer embargo, and added a few seasoned pros, while Hibs and The Rangers were a shambles... iirc, we were down to about 8 players during the close season.

It's as delusional to think he's in our price range as it is for those lot across the road to think that.

True, we probably missed the boat there thanks to the brutal recruitment last summer.

Think is on at least 2 year contract. We could afford to pay the price that DU would be tempted to sell him at. Even then they will keep till promoted. In the summer the right offer might temp them. But delusional if we think we can get him in January window.

  17. #1186
Be interesting to see how he does against a Premiership side in the cup. I'm still to be convinced about Shankland at this level

Quite a few teams looked at him, nobody wanted him other than Dundee United. Suggests that there's more than meets the eye to that one.

Screams of Cummings 2.0 to me who since he left us has been a liability wherever he's gone.

Think there were off field and attitude issues. But I read somewhere he buckled down and was following a healthy regime in terms if lifestyle and diet and had matured. Realised he was in danger of wasting his talent. I think people did not match DU's offer and were not willing to take a risk on him for more DU's package.

Down the years I’ve enjoyed their lows almost as much as Hibs highs. Almost. Whereas I’m almost totally indifferent to their highs and our lows. Which pretty much means that I annoy both sets of fans. Still, can’t help the way you’re put together.

Ironic - they won the league in October and were relegated in February.

Someone over there really needs to pony up with the couple of million they owe her as she's clearly losing the plot and needs out.

It can't be good for her hanging around with footballs Addams family of assorted coaches, part time Sporting directors/directors of football and losers who are just hanging around till the off licence opens.

Maybe whoever is profiting from the millions the megastand's over running by might feel like chucking something back?

Zero bounce from Stendal appointment. Away home for Xmas and back on Christmas night.

Naismith doesn’t train in Edinburgh all week and away home and doubts re fitness

2 wins in 26 league games for the mutants.

Fans expectations of £££millions spending in January yet they have massive heavily contracted squad and a funding shortfall. I wonder if Budgie will ask sorry demand FOH to delay another year before taking over so she can hover up the subs and let Levein and MacPhee spend it on more dross?

    Priceless.

We’re just not famous enough to have head coaches, half sporting directors and star players who stay away from the training ground.

I just watched snippets of Stendels post match interview on the bbc news app and he looks utterly dejected and miserable....after 2 weeks in the job 😂

He doesn’t look up for the fight at all and I can’t see how his attitude is going to inspire the players or turn it around.

    Brilliant

I take it they are aware they have a £400,000 shortfall in the budget?? Further Budgie said she would back the manager but he would give to shop out players first.

More financial doling on the way.

This is brilliant and it will be very difficult on Boxing Day but this is a very winnable game.

It is indeed brilliant. That £400k is just the budget deficit and that budget must have included at least £4m from the anonymous donor to make up for the missing season ticket money at 30 June. It means that come 30 June next year they'll be approaching £30m in additional cash burnt through in the last few years. All that cash and they are bottom of the league. I'm only glad I'm back for Christmas and get to rub it in when I meet my jambo mates tonight and then jambo members of my family on Christmas day.

Merry bottom of the league Christmas, and a Happy Bottom of the League New Year my jambo acquaintances.

That interview is an absolute shocker. You can blame a bit of language barrier stuff for the slightly odd presser when he was unveiled but he looks totally scunnered by the end of that. That's the type of interview you see from a manager who's been at a club for years and has just completely run out of ideas and knows the chop is coming soon. At least Butcher looked angry and like he cared when he came in and butchered us, this guy looks ****ed. And I for one absolutely love it!
