    Boris Watch

Looks like we're stuck with him for the next 5 years. Let's use this thread to list what he gets up to in that time to reflect back upon when the time comes. I'm looking for good and bad things related to Johnson's Premiership going forward from today and not what he's been up to in the past.

Hopefully we won't have a chance to vote him out, as we won't be taking part in the next UK election.

Since the Tories are committed in their manifesto to 'looking at' constitutional reforms, nobody might be taking part in a next UK election.

Apologies for the link to the Daily Heil but if this is the spin in the right wings flagship newspaper then we should be worried.

I'm just glad we've finally got rid of these non elected bureaucrats meddling in our democracy.

Good to see him moving swiftly to get the Brexit bill vote held before Christmas.

Nicky Morgan being given a life peerage by Boris so she can stay on as Culture Secretary. Looks like the post will be getting axed.

The Independent has said he’s already hinted at ditching his promise to protect worker’s rights and environmental issues.. no surprise thanks guys 👍

A Boris watch sounds like the worst xmas present ever. It wouldn’t even be right twice a day.
    Every gimmick hungry yob,

The promises will start to fall like dominoes. I can't understand why the electorate didnt get it.

Bloke on R4 half an hour ago saying that the Johnson Love Actually spoof was the best video he'd seen and it was good enough to win him the election.

Department of Culture Media and Sport to be scrapped in February in an overhaul, presumably to make government more effective. Wonder if there'll be a Ministry for Public Enlightenment set up then.

They won't care. By this time next year we'll be heading for a recession but Brexit is done, Boris is funny, and [NEXT LABOUR LEADER] is [RECURRING INSULT].

"non regression" of workers rights is being stripped out of the Brexit Bill.

80 strong majority means he doesn’t have to give concessions on anything. The bill will sail through on Friday.

That'll force those pesky Europeans to change their minds about trading with the UK.

They need us more than we need them. Wibble.

He’ll get a deal. There will be pragmatism on their side as well. The Irish border is sorted, everything else will be negotiated.

Yeah, but we are a great democracy with equality of opportunity

If Boris had been born into poverty on a Glasgow scheme and not gone to Eton, he'd still be prime minister because of his brilliance...

    Dear @10DowningStreet

Thank you for your invite to afternoon tea with @BorisJohnson, however I must decline. You see less than 24* notice to swap my 14hr shift tomorrow is rather unlikely, much like us filling the 40,000 nurse shortage anytime soon.

    Regards,

Lloyd George, Ramsay MacDonald, Jim Callaghan, John Major and Gordon Brown as Prime Ministers would all seem to suggest that if you have ability and a relatively sane political programme then the highest office in the land is not barred to you by dint of either birth, education or wealth.

Jeremy Corbyn's career also demonstrates that a privileged background is no guarantee of success if the privilege isn't matched by ability or sane politics.

I think this thread is a great idea. Would be best if it contained only factual bad and good rather than 'here's something I found on twitter' type claims.

Will Farage be on the New Year Honours List for his deal with the Tories that was in no way shape or form a deal with the Tories?
