Their wiki page makes reference a couple of times to a capacity of 20,099, with some reference to an article from 2017.

I don’t know how wiki works but surely this can be edited to the correct figure with a link reference to the safety certificate?

Anyone got an account they can use to edit? 😀
I have tried several times. Stating that no source was available for the figure quoted.

I cited the official attendances in sold out matches.

My entry is usually removed within two hours. Somebody is very protective of that 20,099 figure.

Posted quite a few times that our family yam, who is a bit of a nerd, set out to work out the capacity from their own website and any other sources he could find.

He's been adamant for ages that it's 19250 plus whatever extras they can count from hospitality etc.

Boy's a big teamer but on this occasion he just maintains it's now a better facility than anywhere else.

To comply with their Health & Safety obligations and insurance cover they can't totally kid on about capacity so the 19852 will be right but they can use Wikipedia and old wives tales to subdue the "simple fans".

To most observers, two stadiums of circa 20,000 give or take 600 seats would be classed as similarly sized stadiums, with 600 seats in a 20,000 arena not really making a huge difference to stadium size, or meriting any boasting.

Not to Hearts though, who have a rather odd and unhealthy obsession over bigness. Had it been confirmed that they had a few more seats than Easter Road then you can guarantee it would be mentioned on a weekly basis how their ground is the biggest in Edinburgh. Bigger this, biggest that - they really are oddballs.

    Spot on.

Your last paragraph C is so true.

Not once have they mentioned this and I don’t suspect they ever will. I have however brought this up in conversation with a few yam associates over a drink or 2 and the crap they have spouted about more expansion etc is hilarious.

I asked where could they add more seats and they couldn’t answer and the old 1-5 blankie came out.

Head in the sand when it comes to actual FACT!

That should be the target in any conversation with them, if you can get them to bring up 5-1 or 22 in a row then you can declare yourself the victor.

You could try changing surface from "Hybrid" to "World's most expensive tattie field". They usually like having the "biggest" or the "most" something.

Thing is it’s always the case. As I mentioned they don’t do FACT.

They reckon they have the best of everything, from stadium, pitch and training facilities.

When I point out certain things like

One tiered mega stand isn’t finished and will cost well over £20 million

They don’t have a UEFA compliant stadium and it’s only Silver rated by SFA etc (unlike our Hold Status)

They don’t have their own training facilities... they rent.

Things like that and they come out with our stadium is soulless (what about the night we pumped you out the Scottish cup in 2016)

Just things like that and the blankie comes out.

The best and probably most childish thing I do is raise the creditors list and more importantly the bumping of the Lady Haig Poppy Fund.

O ya boy that touches a nerve and they say it’s a lie. Eh naw... not according to the official creditors list. They don’t like FACT

Another one to add to the list - Next time they call themselves the Famous. Just tell them "So famous the manager hadn't heard of them".

I've just been comparing capacities, it doesn't bother me one bit that Pittodrie has 400 more seats than us.

400 more seats in a crumbling stadium though.

Even though Pittodrie is past it's best and has a number of downsides (e.g. uncovered seats), Aberdeen fans can rightly be proud that moving to all-seater was a ground breaking change and away ahead of most other stadia.

Hearts, on the other hand, are simply playing catch up and have nothing worth bragging about.

Their stadium is no better, or larger, than ER and that hurts them

We really should fill even ONE of the corners, that would truly give them the serious nark.

The corner between the East and the Famous Five and call it the Liam Henderson Corner.

The best bit about the Lady Haig Poppy Fund is that not one of their mysterious benefactors some forward to pay it, nor did budge or any other fan. It was our very own STF that paid it.

    The Failures is more apt.

The most amusing thing about their stand is that Budge stated many times that it would create a 20k + seat stadium (and we all know why that target was important to them).

I notice it’s AGM day over at Tynecastle.

I wonder if anyone will be asking about:

    - £21m spent on the new stand when the budget was £12m
    - £25m spent of money donated since Admin
    - the shortage of cash at year end after taking £5m of early season ticket money
    - what level of funding the “donor” will be providing to see them through to end of season
    - the recent revision downwards of the stadium capacity to 19,852
    - the lofty league position of 11th soon to be 12th

    It’s all a good laugh isn’t it?

I'm pretty sure it will be unquestioning support and acceptance of the great situation that Budge will tell the fans she's leaving them with. Must be true, she's said it herself.

At the airplane banner company offices:

Lads, I've just received an order for a banner to be flown over Tynecastle during the hearts agm.

It's from a Daniel Stendel. He wants it to say:

"No style, no bottle, Stendel Out"

    He says its urgent...

What you have written is FACT so in a nutshell no one will mention any of the above, especially the capacity.

The EEN will print what they are told and will confirm to the norm when it comes to them!
