That's just delusional to think America will fight against a NATO ally.

I suspect no matter what Trump does he can't do right for wrong. America has nothing to gain from remaining in Syria. It's a local issue and the West should learn their lesson and stop getting involved.

Again the real problem is why were the West lead by Obama arming Jihadist fighters.

    Orange Man Bad though!

    The YPG have attacked before.

But the point remains, what is it your expecting Trump to do here? Continue illegally occupying Syria to protect the Kurds?

Turkey only went in when Trump had the troops pack up and leave, there would not have been any need for NATO allies to fight.

The Kurds were already pulling back defensive positions and weapons from the border as agreed with the US.

Have they previously attacked? They are fighting against Turkey now from land that they have stole from Syria.

The correct thing is for Syria to reclaim their land and offer the Kurds protection from Turkey.

The wrong thing to do is for America to get involved in yet another middle eastern conflict that they don't need too.

So why couldn't Trump have keep the troops in there until Syria was in a position strong enough to offer that protection against Turkey?

As has been seen this week deals between Assad and the Kurds can be struck.

The Kurdish people are a nationless population chased out of every country, a bit like the Palestinians and Israelis before they were gifted land by great Britain, land that was not Britain's to give.

The situation was stable until the Americans were pulled out with little thought to the consequences, like the freedom for ISIS fighters. Something that you seem to be happy about.

I think this is the key point. I'm no expert on the situation so for all I know it's perfectly appropriate that the USA should withdraw from the region. But surely anyone can see that destabilising such a sensitive environment on a whim instead of as part of a carefully planned withdrawal is madness.

Hence, not for the first time, I'm going to conclude that Slavers defence of the action is motivated by something other than an objective review of the matters at hand.

I think the problem for Trump and the IS is the reason behind the withdrawal. It looks like corruption.

Yep, they're basically like gypsies, most live in the eastern parts of Turkey and in countries bordering those parts of Turkey. When I holidayed many times a few years ago, they were treated poorly by the rest of the Turks, they owned some bars and restaurants but were closed down often due to being extorted by the local mayor and his cronies.

The last time I was there in Marmaris, there were 2 explosions a week after I had left, one on a dolmus bus and another in a litter bin near the harbour. A friend who had another week to go told us someone got stabbed on the steps of one of the bigger plusher hotels.

The thing is the two kids aren't usually armed with weapons which they turn on each other and their families.

    In most countries anyway.

Despite all the nonsense I still have faith that the system over there will eventually see trump in jail. Might be being a bit naive.

i honestly don't think they will put either a sitting or ex-president in the clink, any attempts at impeachment/Suits appear to have stalled lately
