    Beep Beep Taxis

I had never heard of them until they sponsored hibs but they are half the price of Uber or central taxis. The wife and I are going to see Frankie Boyle at the playhouse tonight and living in the Borders we have to get the train up. I need to go via Atholl Crescent and then down to Omni and Uber was £19. Beep beep is £8.90. Unbelievable and highly recommended.

Shows you football sponsorship does work!

Atholl cres to Omni will not cost you 8.90 in a black cab.

Convenient for the customer, not for the worker.

Without knowing the driver’s wage, how can you say that? Or maybe you do know.

Nobody goes to McDonalds and is concerned that the guy serving them is on minimum wage so God knows why it seems to be such a thing with taxis.

I was a bus driver for 7 years and helped endless amounts of tourists navigate their way around the city, not once did I get a tip. Why do most people feel the need to tip taxi drivers a fair amount and not bus drivers??

Was in the taxi for 30 mins. £8.90 for 30 mins work isn’t too bad.

Anyway it’s a business associated with the club and I thought I’d share my experience

The driver will only see a fraction of that and I would be surprised if he is earning much more than minimum wage.

But he is still earning a wage, legally minimum wage or not? Surely it’s better than being unemployed and being on the dole?

Surely being a taxi driver takes more skill than someone, say, stacking shelves. Bet there are more than a few taxi drivers on here and most wouldn't even sniff at minimum wage

Like I said earlier in another post, how do you know what they’re earning and what the business model is? I’m sure the guys will be doing ok or they’d be driving private hires.

I'm judging it on the taxi being half the price than normal. Someone is taking a hit and experience tells me it's rarely the employer.

Driving is a skill. Slagging off folk stacking shelves is pretty harsh. Both are following instructions albeit via a sat nav. Question times about to start anyway so it’s not the kind of discussion can be bothered with.

Folk moan about things being too expensive now folk are calling out the poor employee 😂 this place is bonkers. A taxi driver like any other employee is making a wage if he doesn’t like it get another employer or job simple I’d say. same applies to mine and any other job.

Lol now you are being petty. At no point did I slag someone who stacks shelves, I simply stated that the level of skill required to do so should command a lesser wage than someone who has a more skills to offer. Its called capitalism.

    Yep. It’s hardly slave labour.

Now is see Callum’s point about ripping all things hibs. OP put a positive thread out about a sponsor and it’s rip it to bits and please will someone think of the children.

The more popular the company or app gets the more the drivers will get paid, or it could be like Uber where they work for themselves and every single driver I’ve ever spoke to love their job. It’s hardly in the same bracket as the students cycling tourists all over the Grassmarket on a pissing down Sunday night.

Ordered a 4 seater and 6 seater to take 10 of us to South Queensferry on Saturday - the 4 seater turned up in time, the 6 seater never arrived so had to get an Uber at short notice.
Booking was accepted fine, no message saying car not available. No answer when I phoned up to try and find out where it is.
Not really too fussed, but emailed to highlight the issue (along with letting them know both their email and web address was incorrect on their app) and give feedback as I presume they are a new company and it gives them a chance to fix anything. Still no response - this could be due to their email being incorrect and me guessing it wrong (it had .uk and not .co.uk)
They would probably be last on my list to use now...

Taxi driver guy applies for the job knowing the wage, which is probably above applying for a job stacking shelves. **** knows what this has got to do with football. Can we not just blame it on Anthony Stokes who isn’t a legend and get in with it?

Does it? Stick the sat nav on and drive a car which absolutely stacks of people can do no problem. I’d find it easier and more enjoyable to do that than stack shelves tbh and if I got asked to do one or the other for minimum wage I’d choose driving a car every time.

The wages are making the taxi drivers feel anxious and apparently it is spreading to the bus drivers.

Time to just focus on your on wages and own lives. Great price for taxi and that's all that concerns me. If driver earns £100s or £1 it is their life and can get on with it like we all need to.

and probably having to work all the hours he can to get a semi-decent wage as well, great that it was a cheap fare but the driver will be getting shafted
