Have you told him this face to face? I'm not sure a public forum is the right place to express your feelings

If there were three ex players still playing I could take back and put into our squad tomorrow, it would be McGinn, Griffiths and Ambrose

He would. McGinn would easily be the best player we could get back at this time. Absolutely no doubt about it.

Dylan and Mallan in the middle of the park then aye?

Realistically and still a very long shot it would be Dylan and Stevie . It could work, we will most likely never know.

    Right.

    3-5-2

    Hanlon Jackson Porto
    Stevenson vela hallberg James
    Allan
    Doidge Kamberi

It’s no rocket science. 3-5-2 means Allan in the hole, Hanlon can get on ball without fear of being caught short. Can easy swap WB’a for wingers. Kamberi wanting the ball wide left is fine because someone is in the box still. And this is why he needs to go he can’t/won’t change his mind. Go look at my posts biggest hecky lover and happy clapper but this man is incompetent. What did he change at Motherwell? Nothing shaw on to play LW in the same formation.. mans not cut out for it. Saddens me to say it but time to go. I’m no blinkered man, without the cup Stubbs is another failure BUT the cup happened if we were to bring him in **** ME hibs would be buzzing again imagine the buzz his first home game, cobwebs off and we go again

Surely if we were asking for 3 back like the poster said then McGinn, McGeough and Allan would be the three and not Mallan?

Mallan couldn't lace the boots of McGinn, McGeouch, and Allan. Unless it's a free kick from 25 yards out or space and time to hit a shot from similar range in open play he's got zero redeemable qualities as an actual central midfielder.

Hes hardly wrong though is he? Never seen a midfielder so unwilling to do the dirty stuff as much as him. Hes a poser and not a very good one at that.

Did anyone genuinely expect us to replace McGinn when he’s effectively two players rolled into one and a driven one at that - if so cuckoo!

Stevie M is what he is and has given us something different from Midfield - Goals. If we can’t get behind players development (including feeling safe to try stuff that won’t always work out) then we’re in for a lotta disappointment. Think about the future - it’s development. Might be worth Getting used to it.

Definitely didn't expect us to replace McGinn with another McGinn. But right now Mallan offers us nothing and I genuinely think he's one of the weakest parts of our starting 11. I don't know what stuff you think he's trying different that isn't working out that we can get behind? Is marking, tackling, driving the ball forward, and playing quicker balls forward too much to ask? He's a ponderous midfielder that lacks any physicality to effectively play in his current role at this current level.

I know this is if's/buts/maybes but if he didn't score goals last season no one would have even thought about him as POTY and certainly no one would have missed him if he left because his actual contribution to a game isn't good enough and you can see that now in the fact he isn't even scoring in games. He should be dropped asap and used as back up to Allan to allow him to get closer to goal to have a pop because as a deep lying midfielder he's just not got it and persisting with him there will cost us goals and points.
