Injured. Back in training, I’d suspect he’ll be in the squad on Saturday.

Would start him if anywhere near fit.

He was in the extended match day squad on Sunday so hopefully that means he’s not too far away from a return

I wouldn’t on Saturday (unless he is fully fit) because I think we’ll be fine without him. I would agree for the St J game though.

With Mackie suspended I’m sure he’ll be back sooner rather than later to avoid Whitty having to play LB. Gray presumably an option now as well but given his injury history might not want to rush him.

They've only gone and done it! They've only gone and won the Scottish Cup! What kept you, Hibs?!

He's been on the lash since he thought he'd won Euro millions, but it turned out he was looking at the previous week's ticket.

    Understandable really.

Exactly. £123m he thought he'd won.

Can't wait until he's back, feels so much safer with him at LB, he very rarely gets skinned.

Is Mackie suspended? different competition so think his suspension is probably for the ST. J game. It was not a red for violent conduct, just two yellows, but they have changed the rules so many times, he's probably suspended from training for six months too.

Mackie should be available for the Betfred Cup, but should miss the next league game

Our team looks like it needs about 3 Lewis Stevensons at the moment.

I know we really need him at LB but the team looks like it needs him at CM the most. He can get up and down the park, tackle, and should be a better foil for Allan and Vela/ Slivka than anyone else we have.

He'll be a massive boost when he returns. You don't realise how much you miss him until he's not there

Best thing to do is play him on saturday, yes he made a mistake but he has to learn from these, giving him the thumbs up will help his confidence.

Thats the last thing we should do...he needs to learn from his mistake. Not regret it and let it define his season.

He’s been questionable before Saturday though. I don’t think he’s ready yet to be playing week in week out, just my opinion.

He was absolutely fine vs St Mirren and good in the league cup ties he played.

Plus a few Scott Allans and a couple of Kamberis.

Horgan can sub with his clone, play a fresh Horgan each half.

Lewis is back training with the first team and travelled through to Ibrox with the team on the bus.

The team does not have the same shape without him playing and as far as i have seen in recent performances he has nothing to fear
    getting back into the team.

Its good that people are talking about him again and in the right kind of way.

So looking forward to seeing him back in that jersey and doing what he does best!!

  26. #25
I can't wait to have him and Gray available again in the starting lineup.

  27. #26
Lewis being out must surely know the doubters that we are a much better team with Lewis in it.

shows how far ahead he is in the pecking order. Miss his hunger

hope Im wrong and he learns and develops but don’t see Mackie making it at LB...imo can’t defend well enough at our level ...very surprised he got a three year deal ...

It depends on what we consider "our level" to be.

If it is top 4 then I think all bar maybe 3 or 4 players aren't good enough.

We have a few who when fit should be able to hold their own at that kind of level - Gray, Stevenson, Porteous, Boyle, possibly still McGregor and Hanlon.

Mackie is probably good enough for top Championship, bottom 2 or 3 of the Premier League. A good few of our players are mid-premier league at best and that is probably where we'll end up this season.

I have a hunch that Marciano, Allan, Flo if he's interested and possibly Middleton are going to have to carry an awful lot of deadwood this season as it remains to be seen how much we'll see of the "if fit" crowd.

NI havent seen anything on here, nor have I read anything in the newspaper. I live NZ so get starved of a lot of the coverage you are probably referring to. I recall an injury but have heard nothing for a wee while, hence the thread.
