I think you are seeing things you want to see rather than what actually happened. Doidge pass was nothing out of the ordinary. Players at various levels could have made it. Allan's work and skill turned it into a goal. We brought Doidge to score goals not to make simple passes. He fluffed two sitters and and his one on one with goalkeeper was like a damp squib. When he went from the fourth tier of Englush football to the third tier he scored one in 17. The data and performances so far do not indicate a roaring success. We will of course wait and see and hope for some miraculous transformation.
I know you're only supposed to use the 'report' button for harassment/rudeness etc, but there really should be an exception made for gross stupidity and sheer brazen bawbaggery. If I read anymore of your posts there's a good chance I will jump out of my bedroom window, smashing glass all around me as I go, putting my own lifeat risk just to relieve the boredom.

    That's what it's come to.

Some of the posters on this site are getting worse, I mentioned earlier that its getting to the stage where I stop coming on here and I'm sure there are many others like myself now which is a shame as it was a good place to read and discuss hibs

I'm kind of with you there. Still log on every day to have a look as it's been a good source of info but getting more and more negative. I'm just looking forward to a good season where our new signings kick on and make us a team to be proud of.

Maybe we should have an experimental ignore thread is that not the purpose?

That's appeasement. Next thing SingHibs will be annexing the Sudetenland and Pretty Boy will emerge from a plane waving around a piece of white paper saying that he's received a promise from Herr Filipino not to post anymore pish.

You haven’t read my post have you?? I didn’t say it was a world class, defence splitting pass, it was a pass to his team mate who went into score the winning goal.

‘We bought Doidge to score goals and not make simple passes????’ WTF does that mean. If he hadn’t made the pass last Saturday Allan wouldn’t have had the chance. It is a team game NO

His ‘simple’ pass as you call it set up the winning goal.

Are you not happy that he did? I also bet Paul Heckingbottom was delighted with his simple pass.... but would have had a wee word about not putting the ball in net?

He did well for the goal. But let's not turn it into something that it's not.

Some people have it down as a "sublime touch", it was never a sublime touch or a great touch. It WAS a simple pass but one which he did well to spot and have the bravery to play.

If I was Heckingbottom I would be happy with that but also unhappy with his two sitters.

    In the meantime..........

No transfer news beyond the near certainty we are signing Middleton on loan next week.

Tomorrow will be a big test of whether Heckingbottoms signings are up to scratch. Vela will need to step up several gears in midfield, Newall will need to work hard v Tavernier and try and keep him on the back foot. Doidge will have a part to play, hopefully in partnership with Kamberi up front. Jackson will also be tested v Morales.

It’s early in the season and the team is still gelling, but it’s the same for the Hun. We know what we get from the established players ( and Allan) and they’ve shown they can get results in big games. Hopefully, the new guys display the qualities we hope for.

I still think we some more in. I guess we find out at Ibrox.

Godwin's Law would have been more appropriate last week when he was the opposing manager.

Mind you, it is the New Huns tomorrow.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

There is an ignore function. Problem is everyone needs to use it or you see that utter pish if folk reply.

Almost at that stage myself. Come on here looking for a wee snippet of news or some decent chat about Hibs. Leave feeling a bit depressed

Yes tomorrow will tell whether we have had a reasonable recruitment effort or whether it has been totally mishandled although we should also remember that it looks as if Rangers are much improved.

There’s a real strange feel about this place for a team that have started the season with 14/15 points competitively and heading to Ibrox. Not getting it.

Agree. If we play well tomorrow and create chances but don't win, I'll still be relieved that the players at least have the potential to do well.

We have 3 points in the SPL and struggled to beat ST Mirren at home who have been getting whipped by lower league teams. One bit of Allan magic saved us. We missed sitters and looked venerable at the back when the Saints counter attacked. I for one am worried against an ever improving Rangers.

People clearly haven’t taken to PH.

They’re waiting on him failing as oppose to just supporting the team

And by the way, potentially two games from Hampden (one of which being Morton at home) and it’s not even mid august

That may be true for a minority, but (and I say this as a fan of PH) think it’s natural that the jury is out about our chances this season ...we’ve not played particularly well in most games and struggled in a few which should have been easy wins ...

The team will no doubt improve as players settle in ...but I think it’s reasonable for people to be a bit hesitant to be confident about this season ...

If we’d taken our chances, and had a decent ref, could have been 4-0 easily

The ever improving Rangers struggled to beat Kilmarnock who have been getting whipped by semi-professional Welsh teams.

I think if most are honest it is early season and it will take time and as you say only natural to have some concerns however a wee bit of context needed plus support and patience.
