    Cost of Policing

Daily Rangers article reporting the following from FOI requests

I really don’t understand why Policing Easter Road was 50% more expensive than Tynecastle. Some difference given changes at the end of the season.

Comparison to costs in London are stark: presuming they simply have more stewards

Is this what clubs paid? Or were charged?
Over a number of eras (Walnut Merciless and Romanov) Police Costs were not paid.

Not that many less surely? Did we have more Sunday home games. Maybe we have to pay more for those.

English clubs only pay for cops deployed within the ground not outside as they won an appeal against policing costs outside and on the routes to the stadia. Thats picked up by the tax payer.

Must equate to about 33p per person if we go by our total attendance.

    Hibs had European matches.
    Hearts didn't

Cops don't get payed enhanced rates on a Sunday so that will be a no.
The difference between the cost to Hibs and Hearts is concerning (our small time European games wouldn't have required much Policing)

Hopefully improved CCTV (the cornerstone of our erse reduction strategy) will give us a better argument for less Police in our ground on match days.

    That wasn’t last season.

The correct answer has to be more home league games and European matches. Did hearts not get caught dropping the police for a couple of games that ended up in trouble that budge had a go at them for?

but all football (certainly in england) is paid from overtime rates. usually 1.5 hours.

It's also odd that it happened the year that Police Chief Cameron Miekelson was confronted about discrepancies in the policing cost between the two clubs...
