I’ve seen a couple say this now. Why does it actually matter? He’s here and Heckingbottom has been absolutely full of praise for him, while also saying he needs to improve in some areas. He’s played regularly in pre season and started our first league game.

We arent crying out for one according to PH, I've heard him say numerous times he wants his midfielders to be attacking & defensive in their play. I dont think we will see anyone come in that is just going to sit in front of the back four. I do think we will get 1 more after Middleton though.

No I dont think it's enough, was just highlighting what PH had said previously. He was quite clear also that Vela wasnt a DM but most other seem to think hes in to play that role. I reckon we will see Mallan play deeper than Vela throughout the season. Really dont know what to expect this year if I'm honest. Not convinced yet.

I agree. Had a look at his CV and only his contribution to Cardiff in their promotion season is impressive.
Lots of involvement with the French international age teams but as most of us know that means very little in relation to later success in senior football.

Much like Ojo at Aberdeen and Vela at Hibs the jury will be out on Dacour until he plays a good few games in Scotland.
I certainly haven't seen nearly enough of Ojo or Vela to form any opinions of them so far, other than to confirm they are no world beaters.

Again I agree, bartley had his uses at Tynie but it was perfect time to move on. However, Some fans like to see rigid postions/formations and there will be some amount of tears and snotters if we take a doing and it doesn't appear someone has sat deep enough for their likening!

We've lost Milligan, Marv and Omeonga. There were times last season when we were bullied and overrun in midfield. I'm happy with Vela and Allan coming in but we need more. I don't understand how anyone could think we don't.

We need to realise that Rangers are spending a fortune on their recruitment now, they are much better than they were last season. Where we finish in the league this season will not be determined by tomorrows result or performance. Just like Hearts start to last season had no bearing to how they would end the season. We are 1 game in I can't understand why folk are getting so worked up.

Vela looks more like a box-to-box player who is playing deep by necessity at the moment. If we sign a dedicated DM we can push him further up. I'm still not convinced Allan and Mallan can play together.

No, we would be bringing in a player to protect the defenders even against st Mirren it was a shambles at times let alone going away to good teams.

Hecky might be happy but right now the squad is completely lacking an engine and even a forward to stick away chances.

We do need more and the manager is saying finances are not allowing it. This is really worrying considering our huge leap in attendances, transfer money in and less bodies to pay. We’ve lost out on a sponsor which would have helped but as a club seem more concerned in community projects than our football team 😕
