I don't give a flying one where Turnbull plays next season all I want in info who is going to sign for Hibs.
Funny. I care even less about this than I care where Turnbull ends up. I guess you take what you get with this thread!

BIG risk for the player and Motherwell, a bad injury or dramatic loss of form could reduce his price and salary, i hope it pays of both as it did with us and SJM
It's not a big risk because bad injuries that ruin players are not common.

If he was offered 4K per week I think he was right to say no.

Yes he may only be on 400 pw now and it would be a huge jump and a great salary (for people out with football and based on him only doing it for 8 months)

But he is being bought for 3-3.5 million pounds and has English clubs interested in signing him who would probably offer double that.

Celtic paid Scott Allan more a week who they signed for free after one decent season in the championship.

If they’re paying that much of a fee he won’t be sitting in the reserves.

I also have a feeling he just doesn’t fancy Celtic and wants to go down south.

They haven't learned from the John McGinn fiasco.

£4K a week is a pathetic offer for a player they’d have just braid £3.2m for. That’s the sort of wage we can afford.

The way they have thrown him under a bus is a disgrace.

Hopefully he heads to England and they can watch his career take off just like they have with SJM

Nothing new that I’ve seen. Heckingbottom has said Omeonga wants to sign and we want to sign him but won’t be able to progress until after the Euro u21s and obviously depends on offering Genoa the kind of cash they’d want.

McNulty is pretty much the same but talks are ongoing. Also confirmed we aren’t hanging about waiting on these two and have others ongoing as well in case deals can’t be done.

In the same way as last season I think Hecky'll be happy when we have at least two good players for every position. Right now we'd be looking at:

    First XI:
    GK: Marciano
    RB: Gray
    CB: Porteous
    CB: Hanlon
    LB: Stevenson
    RW: Boyle
    CM: Allan
    CM: Mallan
    LW: Horgan
    ST: Shaw
    ST: Kamberi

    Second XI:
    GK: Dabrowski
    RB: Whittaker
    CB: McGregor
    CB: Jackson
    LB: Mackie
    RW:
    CM: Murray
    CM: Slivka
    LW: Newell
    ST: Gullan
    ST:

Not convinced Whittaker/Slvka are in his plans, and Dabrowski may not be our second choice (plus Marciano might be away). We're also still pretty soft in midfield, and strikers obviously needed.

Looking at that we need two grafters in midfield, another winger and two strikers.

    Plenty of time though.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

We won't go 2 up top with those payers, 3 in the middle, 2 wide and a striker.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Dabrowski, Gullan and Mackie go out on for another 6 months or so. Dabrowski hasn’t played enough football, to sit on the bench every week. Needs to be playing
Nice to talk about football though!

He was at Berwick but I think a new manager came in and he was recalled I think, or something similar.

Cheers JC, decent level club on loan has to be his next move if he is going to make the step up

Has anyone seen enough of Tommy Block to know if he is knocking on 1st team squad door yet?

I'd keep Mackie in and around the first team, but agree with you on Gullan and Dabrowski.

I would as well, but we’ve just brought in a left sided player
Mackie won’t develop unless he’s playing, hence the reason I think a 6 month loan would help him

Ones a midfielder though. I'd imagine Mackie will be battling it out with Lewis?

Not from what I’ve been told. Going forward he will be deployed in midfield.

Sean for me is far better going forward, in my opinion he’s not an orthodox left back

He has a sweet left foot but maybe not the best defensively, I think he's played a lot as a left mid/left wing during Development games.

Well aye, but I was kinda hoping that this means we'll be looking at someone else to challenge Lewis..

Yep, agreed, if Mackies getting pushed into midfield we’ll need to find someone either to challenge Lewis or cover us for injuries.

Challenging Lewis is a hard thing to do on our budget.

I'm all for young scottish talent snubbing Celtic and the The Rangers for going down south or abroad and love Celtic getting egg on their face. To be honest though in this case it sounds like either the player, the agent or both are being greedy. What strikes me is he has had half of a good season. Personally I can't beleive he is going for 3+ million on the back of it - that's crazy. Part of me wants him to go on, be a great player, bypass Celtic and make a fortune down south. Another part of me thinks it would serve him right turning it down then be poor next season and playing for Falkirk in 3 years time
This is where I am at.

All of the players that they have had raided from them recently have played for half a season for MWell. For what 4.5 months?

Unless I am not aware of them playing before -entirely possible- but I think it is mental they are attracting so much attention after such a short period of time.

If I am right and it has only been the second half of the season, even if it’s been a whole season, you’d think they’d be counselled to stay and develop further with motherwell.

It all seems extremely rushed to me.

Clearly you know, or have been told that they are being greedy? I'd suggest they perhaps have other interested parties, or have reservations about signing, maybe want to keep options open? Who knows?

Whatever the outcome, I hope that a fine Scottish talent finds the right club and progresses.

To suggest you would like to see him fail based on speculation is quite harsh IMO.
