Been linked with a young striker from Liverpool. Was on loan at Doncaster last season
Watched Herbie Kane play in a game last season against my English side Chorley in the FA Cup. Guy was absolute class and scored twice, was head and shoulders above the rest of the players on show. (Yes, I know it was only Doncaster and Chorley 😂)

Sometimes you can just tell when a player is class though, doesn't matter about the level of football.

Absolutely mate, short clip of the game here which includes his brilliant second goal.

All the midfield players that we are being linked with (Jamie Devitt and Herbie Kane) seem to be attacking types.

Maybe we are just going for all out attack this season. 4 at the back and 5 attacking midfielders plus a lone striker. Interesting.

Can't we just sign talented footballers?

Joking aside though, from what I've seen of Kane he looks a bit more than just an attacking midfielder.

If turnbull has any sense or his agent he’d stay at Motherwell and get a move down south rather than rot at Celtic.

3m+ add ons is being reported. Think motherwell are selling themselves short. He's a cracking talent and hopefully this might start a bidding war.

Looking forward to us being linked with him in about 18-24 months.

Celtic must rate him twice as much as English Championship player of the year John McGinn 🤔

Another waste of Scottish talent. Shocking move if he goes.

3m plus add ons sounds like a good deal for well given he has only played for one season and only has a couple of u21 caps.

Hypothetical question, if hibs were offered the same for porteous now do you think hibs would take it?

    Disagree.

Good move for him imo. Gets to stay close to his friends and family, will be earning a life changing amount of money, get to win trophies and play in the champions league.

If he doesn’t do well he’ll still get a move to the English Championship, if he does well then on top of all of the above he’ll get a move to the English Premiership.

No, Turnbull just signed a new contract at Motherwell until 2021
Porteous is under contract until 2023

You honestly think hibs would reject 3 million for Porteous?

I love him as a players but he’s only really done it for half a season and suffered a horrendous injury. He has huge potential but if someone offers 3 million tomorrow he will be off.

If Hibs got offered 3m for Porteous I think they’d take that, as it stands now.

Regardless of the contract situation Porteous has a long way to go before we are getting offered that type of money. Then again, there is always the myth that is Scott McKenna.

Porteous has a long way to go before anyone is paying money for him. Dives in way to often. Needs to learn to stay on his feet.

For the most part we all think highly of Porteous but it's interesting that I read that a couple of German clubs are after Liam Morrison at Celtic - if that is true then does it mean we are over estimating Porteous a little bit?

. They would be driving him to whoever if they got anywhere near that ...great prospect, but nowhere near that sort of value yet. Hopefully this will be a great season for him

HH, they would get Morrison practically for free

Let’s just get Ryan back fit and healthy for the new season!

Ryan's stats are better than Scott McKenna at Aberdeen 'like-for like' on games played (goals scored, conceded, pens, clean sheets) and they value him at £8 million. He does however need to work on his discipline, agreed.

If someone offered £3m for Porto tomorrow do you reckon we would sell without even negotiating?

No it most likely means Celtic youth players have greater exposure across Europe than ours due to participation in the UEFA Youth League.

Yes Hibs would rip their hands off.

Serious European clubs know about Porteous and he is being monitored. Not saying they will try and buy him, but they are defo keeping an eye on him. Hibs also know this.

I get that Billy but 3M isn't a lot of money for a Bundesliga club - the important thing is whether they think they can sell him on for a profit......

Think that’s a different argument. A lot of young boys (16 year olds etc) move to bigger clubs quite freely. We had Porteous signed up on a long contract quite early.

He’s a very good prospect and player but needs time to develop.
