This signing absolutely came out of nowhere! Wasn’t reported anywhere that we were in for him. Reading the Rotherham fans forum, they are a little disappointed that he’s left them.

That’s now 3 players in - Allan, Jackson & Newell. Personally would like to see a GK (if Marciano leaves), RB, 2 new midfielders & 2 strikers and I think we are set.

Does anyone know when the players report back for pre-season?

Be interesting to see how Heckingbottom sets up once he has all his signings in the door. Dont know if he is gonna go with one up top and 2 wide forwards with a midfield 3 behind them , or 2 up front with a 4 in the middle.

I believe Mackie is a left back, have only really seen him playing more left side of midfield but could be cover at LB

Every position can be strengthened. I am not averse to a new lb coming in but definitely not the priority. 2 centre mids, 2 strikers and a right back first. And we might also need a keeper.

It's a position we can improve upon, appreciate others might not agree, but I suspect most fans would think the same.

Agree, he is very limited and not irreplaceable. Needs decent competition imo. Not doubting his commitment at all just feel we have neglected that position for years now.

Nobody will replace Lewis for at least a couple of years. We quite simply couldn’t afford to replace him with anyone good enough to keep him out the team.

Billy, no-one is irreplaceable, if Heckinbottom wants to build a team to at least compete for top 3 and he signs players to replace others, legends such as Gray, Stevenson, McGregor then so be it, if it moves the club forward then Im all for it. If he can sign better than Stevenson or create competition then thats a good thing surely, gonna be an interesting season 🇳🇬👍

So limited every manager weve had I'm the last 10 years has picked him...but what do they know ah?? Limited honestly...what a dreadful description of one a double cup winning legend. Not denying he may need some competition but what an unfair remark
