And we’ll still try to sign them on a six month loan
Why would we only sign them on a 6 month loan? Would that not be a bit silly?

Ex Chelsea & Brentford now free agent ? Midfield playmaker.

A few teams in england interested as well, had to have a look to see who he is.
Seems the type we have been trying to get in.came through at chelsea not really kicked on from initial promise.
Never seen him play myself.26yrs old just released from brentford.
Mate says he plays the holding role.

He's a bit like Jack Wilshere style wise. I'd love to have him as he's a natural footballer, it's hard to get those London based guys to move though.

Is that the Jack or the Bartley role?

Very highly rated when at Chelsea, think he was at Boro, not sure how much he has been a regular starter wherever he has gone, not sure if down to injury or form.

Seems like Dylan mcgeouch with a far better pedigree. On paper would be an excellent signing

Mainly injuries since he's been at Brentford. Although he's been fit for most of this season and started as first choice(28 games) and was in really good form.

He was replaced by a more defensive minded player when Smith left to manage Villa. The new Brentford manager doesn't seem to fancy him at all.

He's at a good age too 26. It would be a risky signing in one sense but it could also be a fantastic signing if he holds up fitness wise.

NHC but I see that Andy Carroll has been released by West Ham - insane to think that he cost £10M more than Liverpool paid for Suarez that transfer window in January 2011.

    Since then (club football only):

    Carroll

    132 starts
    45 goals

    Suarez

    363 starts
    259 goals

Surprised to learn that he's only just turned 34. Was signed by Derby for £2.5M just in January 2017, and scored 17 goals in 51 league starts (lots of sub appearances). Will probably get good offers from down south.

It does, just my interpretation that his thanks was aimed at the not working out at Reading. Who knows with Jimmy though 😂

You have to look at the players that are injury prone as that cost us this season If any two of Hanlon Gray or McGregor are out for any Length of time together it’s a problem .Porteous should be back fit again but again we don’t know how he will go given his injury situation this Season

Was reading it as starters. From that perspective I think it's fair enough - four starters signed would be ace.

We do need cover but I guess the trick is that we need good, cheap and prepared not to be first choice (unless we're dropping one of the current defense down the pecking order). Like you say it's tough..... If Porteous, McGregor and Hanlon all stay fit we've got a good Central defence but equally you could have all three injured and we're ****ed.

If he had signed i doubt his dad would confirm it on twitter, would rather let the club announce it. I'd imagine with the extra cash we are getting with mcginn that it will help our case

Oil Shaw has played 57 first team games for us over the last two seasons. I think it’s fair to say he is part of the first team squad and just a couple of weeks ago Hecky gave an interview in which he said Murray is a big part of his plans and the team will be built to accommodate his development into a first team role so I think it’s safe to say he is also a first team player in Hecky’s eyes.
Both Shaw and Murray are 1st team members on the official website so i don't consider them development players.

Porteous is the one i am worried about.
All that popping the knee back into place and playing on crap was madness.
    Fingers well and truly crossed.
