I see Partick released Souleymane Coulibaly - think he would be a fantastic signing if he replicated his Killie form. He's had a bizarre last 2 seasons mind you.
Daylight robbery the money they got for the player. Well played Killie though as the boy is clearly a huddy who went on a Connor Sammon esq run of form.

Scott Allan showed by his performances for us that he was glad to be back home and was prepared to roll up his sleeves and get stuck in

Perhaps due to the way he left us under a Hun cloud the first time he was here

His stats do not stand up for scrutiny

    Played 12 won 6 drawn 5 lost 1 scored 3

I do not think you have to worry about Scott Allan making tackles on the edge of his own box

    All hands to the pump

He is the guile the goals and the killer pass we have been missing

He has a lot of catching up to do due to wasted time

Allan is streets ahead of Mallan and Hyndman
I'm not going to argue with any of that.

But we need a team built so that he can do what he does best.

Just like we had for him the last time he was here.

We know what he can do. I don't think we currently have the right players to play alongside him and get the best out of him so will need a bit more transfer activity this summer.

Without reading through the thread, who said we were in for him?
Also without reading the whole thread I just saw someone say they would be delighted if we were

McMullan of Dundee United is a good wee player.

Lots of energy, great work rate and goes past players for fun.

I don’t think anyone said we were in for him but people calling him gash and atrocious are just plain wrong. 👍

From what I saw of him at Hibs I’d say those people are quite close to the truth. Boy looked like he wasn’t interested.

He isn't everyone's player of the season.
He's officially our player of the season though

Mallan is still relatively young and developing as a player. His shooting and dead-ball delivery are excellent but he is clearly working on other aspects of his game to make him a better all-round player, but that doesn't happen overnight.

I think there is a conscious effort being made to play him in deeper lying positions and to develop him into the type of role McGeouch played to accommodate Allan coming in as our first-choice attacking midfielder.
I think you're right, he does seem to be getting pushed into this role. However, I can't say I've seen many signs of it being a worthwhile decision.

Allan will be first choice as you say, we absolutely need drive and energy behind him and Mallan will never provide that.

I have definitely seen progress with Mallan on physical aspects etc, however not sure how we fit him in next year (if we do go for energy in midfield as I hope we will)

Edit: thought I should add, I would love if he did turn into a McGeoch type who can also shoot, would be a great combo to have - used to always annoy me that Dylan would find himself in great shooting positions on the edge of the box and pass.

Dylan had a panic attack in the Scottish cup semi against Aberdeen
had to be subbed after scoring the equaliser
never been so far up the pitch 😂

Have said this before, he's only 23 and reminds me of Boyle, out of contract in the summer I believe

I’ve always liked the look of him when I’ve seen Dundee United play. Would rather we signed him and hope he goes the same way as McGinn and Boyle after making the step up than getting another big team Loanee like Barker or Agyepong in.

Didn't realise he was only 23, looks older!

Would take a punt on him, he seems quite nippy and capable of creating chances for others.

I’ll change what I said to he was atrocious at Hibs. There won’t be many that will disagree with that.

Way over the top. He was a disappointment overall - a couple of good games, some decent ones, but was anonymous in far too many to be considered a success. He clearly has ability though.

I wouldn't class any Hibs player as atrocious since Butcher was here.

He was at the centre the performance of the year in the 6-0 win over Accies. I saw some of the best football I've seen in the flesh played that day.

As others have said looked as though he didnae want to be here and a bit too light weight

I remember when he left he stated he wanted to stay???

Obviously quite skillful gets pass marks for Hamilton (6-0) Aberdeen League Cup Huns 1-1 where he got a good round of applause when hooked after 60 minutes for Horgan

    Next!
