I think Slivka will be going in the summer.
Yeah I think so too...reading between the lines of what Hecky is saying I think there are a few that will be getting moved on ....what I like is he seems very single minded on what he wants to do. So refreshing to hear our manager talk about us in a press conference and not Celtic for half of it.

Completely agree mate. There’s no other motive but 100% us and what he’s got to do to make us better and the confidence oozes out him too. Good times.

I’m hoping Scott Allan can bring the best out of Flo with balls between the defenders to the feet of Kamberi rather than just lumping the ball to him out wide

Slivka is another one who folks have been moving on for a couple of windows now. Then he gets back in the team again.

I think sometimes when a player is signed by a manager that manager can't get a bit stubborn or blind to whats actually happening. Lennon obviously wanted Slivka to work well because it was his signing. Hence why he kept shoe-horning him into RWB/RM when our midfield was full of talent. And after the Fyvie situation he had to show he had someone better lined up, then after McGeouch and McGinn left he had to show that his men were good enough to step in and he could keep the club competitive by building new squads when needed.

Now PH has come in and has no obligation to any players or history with them he can make a balanced decision on who is good enough or not. I would guess that Slivka will go if someone wants to take him off us.

Totally. His Hibs TV interview was so refreshing to see. Knows exactly where we are at and what he needs to change. No moaning over injuries or other outside factors. He must be delighted, like us all, that boyle, porteous and Allan will be new players to him. I'm very excited because if this is what he can achieve with the players he's had available then it is exciting to think what he can't do when the three guys mentioned plus two or three others come in. Could be another cracking season coming up.

He has offers from both Aberdeen and hearts. Apparently waiting for one of the old firm to come in for him though 😂😂

Very insightful, knows what he wants and I liked the bit about players having to sell themselves to the club and not just us selling the club to them, he wants players want to be here. Reading between the lines it looks like a few surprises are coming, especially who may leave

I know this is a rumours thread and not a transfer suggestions thread but notice Lewis McLeod has been released by Brentford.

Fits the profile of the type of player we normally go for I think. Wouldn’t surprise me if we were interested.

Agree a decent player who is untouchable and can also ref a game are difficult to find.
You're both spot on, and him seemingly being bulletproof is one of many reasons why I'm glad they're losing him. His importance to Aberdeen is shown in this stat from the BBC website:

The midfielder has only missed five matches in the last two seasons, and Aberdeen have lost each of them.

Only one I’d even consider keeping is Bartley and even then he would probably be used sparingly, all those other wages could go to get us a couple of better players

Thanks MjJo......I wouldn't be offering contracts to any of them and I'd imagine Hecky will think the same. We definitely need better if we wish to progress

Think it’s time to say goodbye to the Bartman tbh.

Sadly, yes. That position had changed in recent times as well, requires a more mobile player.

Be absolutely gutted to see Bartley go,but he deserves game time wether for us or someone else, done a hell of a lot for the club last few years and will definitely be missed in the changing room

It is incredible he has only missed five games in two seasons given he basically should be booked in most games I see either for persistent fouling and dissent. Assuming some of the 5 were for injury too.

Never been on the pitch in a derby loss too, his only defeat is the Scottish Cup game at Tynecastle and the winning goal was scored after he'd been subbed.

He found himself in the starting squad earlier on when Hecky came in and obviously he was trying to gauge where everyone was. But as the weeks have gone on you can see his involvement is starting to get lower and lower from half hour off the bench to sometimes not getting on, if we had other midfielders in the squad I wonder if he would be in the squad at all for these last few games.

Personally I think he will go, and I can't say I'm too disappointed if he does.

He's not going to displace Rocky. He's not anywhere near the same level as him and he'll want to play first team football.

Can't see him staying but it probably won't be for financial reasons!

Slivka hasn’t started the last 4 games and in his previous 2 starts he was subbed after about an hour. Definitely a bright start under Heckingbotton but then he’s fallen back into his usual pattern.

If we can find someone to take him, I’d be happy enough for him to go. Wouldn’t surprise me for him to be a success elsewhere but he’s stagnating here and we can do better
