Kenny Miller, Weegie gangsters and the case of the missing 45 grand ear-rings - what a hoot
RANGERS striker Kenny Miller has been named as a key witness in an alleged gangland extortion plot. Detectives are examining two mobile phones connected to the 36-year-old star as part of their investigation.
Officers arrested Billy Steele, 35, after he was accused of demanding £40,000 from the daughter of a notorious gangland figure with links to the vice industry. Steele is alleged to have demanded the cash as compensation for a pair of diamond earrings that were lost during a rammy involving the woman and Miller’s wife Laura.
It is claimed he went to the woman’s home in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, on Wednesday night where she and her boyfriend were threatened for the cash. A source said: “This all goes back to an incident about eight weeks ago between Kenny’s wife Laura and another woman.
“Laura lost her earrings during a fight. Steele appears to have gone round of his own volition, looking to get the cost of them back.”
Police went to private school Hamilton College on Thursday, where they waited to arrest Steele but failed to apprehend him. He then handed himself in at a nearby police station. Miller co-operated with police, who took two mobile phones they believed to be used by the former Scotland star.
The brawl involving Laura happened on September 10, when trouble flared at Da Luciano in Bothwell just hours after Celtic beat Rangers 5-1. Up to 20 people were involved in the fracas, which spilled out into the Italian restaurant’s car park. Police were called to the incident at about 9pm but arrived after the trouble had passed. They scoured CCTV footage of the bust-up amid claims that a man had been seen entering the venue brandishing a lock-back knife. Miller stepped in after Laura, 28, was slapped in the face during the brawl. She suffered a black eye and a scratch to her forehead.
A source said: “All hell broke loose, it was complete chaos. “A lot of punches were thrown and Laura was grabbed by her hair. She lost her earrings, which cost about £45,000.” Mum-of-two Laura later posted photographs on her Instagram page showing the scratch above her eye. She also posted a picture of her ear, captioned: “My substitute earrings are not very cool.”

Seems more than sad that Kenny Miller is being associated with this second incident. Liked him as a kid when he was playing under 16s. Liked him as a young player for us and remember at the time of his departure we were very glad of the money. Of course he came back to haunt us next game but it is great to see whole hearted players doing well.
His class showed through again after the cup final and I wish the guy well.
Sincerely hope he has no connection with the people reported to be involved in this incident. Perhaps it would have been best to deal with the thing through the insurance. Perhaps he did of course. Who knows?

T'Rangers now negotiating with Barton's agent for an early release from his contract.
Hope it costs them an absolute fortune... and he still spills the beans.

However, how has sensitive medical information come into the public domain re: signed off with stress? Can only have been a leak by Monsieur Creosote, and that's a very dangerous game to play.
Barton has damaged Rangers, there's no doubt about that, but the huns' attempts to get rid of him have been shambolic and easily as damaging, if not more so.
If I were Barton and confidential medical information leaked to the press from my employers then I would just say 'sod it', and stay put for the remainder of my contract.

You're a long time retired.
Whilst it's good fun for us to watch an odious character and an odious club go hammer and tongs, I can't understand why he'd want to prolong this nonsense.

That's a bit pathetic, TBH. I can't see him or his agent agreeing to such a small amount when he's got over 18 months left on his contract.

Same thing.
I think it must be because one of the words in the URL is replaced with ***** when you past it here.
I found it by replacing the ***** with the most obvious word....
