Agreed. First one of his I have bothered to read for a while. I have very low expectations and I was not to be surprised by this latest load of absolute garbage from a complete tool. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

No matter the credentials, vocabulary, or the allegiances of the various contributors it is a fascinating story of intrigue and fancy footwork.
Every time one issue is 'resolved' the law of unintended consequences come into play and the whole mess just gets bigger.
It is all going to go pop one day but the question is, which brick is going to bring the whole edifice tumbling down?
I won't put the popcorn down yet, lots of entertainment left in this saga. However, just like the film Titanic, there is an inevitability about how it is all going to end...........

Worthy cause though he is, I somehow resisted. I must have a heart of stone.

Never begrudge a man trying to earn a living. I just don't quite think his sources are as bona fide as he implies.
Strangely, John James now uses near-identical phrasing to imply he's inside the story.
I think it's all just speculation from interested observers, with the occasional genuine scoop.

His writing style is horrendous but I can ignore that as well and get what I need to get from him.

I think his comments about 'stenographers' is accurate: a stenographer simply transcribes what they hear and are told - the Record and others simply redistribute content. Journalism (the gathering, processing and dissemination of news and information) is not what we see. Phil and others often point out glaringly obvious questions that Scottish Sports journalists seem either disinclined or oblivious to ask.
As a journalist, I rate Alex Thomson. When the EBT ruling came out, his view was that Phil had been vindicated.
You may not like his style and some of the pieces are a bit pointless. He might be off target sometimes. You may not like his politics, if that's someone's beef with the man. But on the Rangers situation, time and again, his perspective has been proved consistently right or at the very least charitable, it's been in the right direction.
johnjamessite I only read occasionally and like Phil, his style can sometimes be grating - the continual overuse of the word "posit", for example. I think he's relatively new so have no idea whether he makes educated guesses or simply rewrites rumours he reads elsewhere. theclumpany blog is, I think, the most entertaining and readable out there at the moment that I've seen. Pulling apart the standard puff piece articles from the Evening Times, Herald and other sources, mixed in with a bit of irreverent humour. He also has a thing about 'journalists' who do little more than Level5 PR's bidding and drop adverts for Rangers season books and other products dressed up as news.
It's a bit rich for journos to blast bloggers for 'having an agenda', when in many cases, there are blatant signs that journos have the biggest agenda of all. At least when you read a blogger, they are unlikely to conceal their agenda rather than a journo who tries to present their opinion/their instructions as facts.
In short, journos use mealy (and inaccurate) words like "demoted", "punished". Bloggers use the word "admitted", "re-entered the leagues" and "restarted life in the 3rd division".Last edited by steakbake; 19-11-2015 at 05:18 PM.

Not sure what the above is in relation to as he already has a date for his judicial review of the SFA decision on KING for Fit & Proper of Feb next year so this could be something new altogether.
Lets hope so.
It's alright for Mike, he can afford the lawyers.

good to see MA taking anyone connected to The Rangers to court especially if The Rangers have to pay for it. It's his new ploy to make sure that there is no money left in the pot when he decides to go in for the kill or to actually buy them lock stock and barrel.
I wonder if there will be some out of court settlement with SFA so that he will be allowed to own more than his 9%. Make no mistake these tw@ts in the SFA would sell their mother if they thought it would benefit The Rangers. Or themselves.
If it does go to court how many questions will be answered with very very naughty or illegal answers.
Either way not bothered but if it's taking money from them that they don't have could and should be a God send., problem is long term if he gets in and owns them outright.

Re the Daily Mail "interview".I'm intrigued that Warburton was won over by the video of the Rangers choir at an OF match that his son showed him.Leaving aside the viewing habits in the Warburton household did he really understand what he was watching-if so jeez.

Stop the motion in the first place . Judicial reviews can be a lengthy process and the meeting next month.

Plenty time !
Its a ridiculous concept anyway. RIFC are a PLC, its like Ford banning any shareholders from voting at their AGM if the have shares in BMW.
Anyway, did the Rangers not own shares in another football club themselves ! Well they did until wee goggle eyes found the Arsenal Shares in the Ibrox safe and flogged them to the highest bidder.

By the way, it is amazing how similar what is happening now is to the first couple of series with Murray and Whyte. Remember Rangers were living a hand to mouth existence with no money blaming every one else for whatever is happening. The MSM are just pretending everything is okay and talking about million pound signings.
Will they never learn?Last edited by PatHead; 19-11-2015 at 07:26 PM.

Not to mention how many directors of clubs like Airdie and Clude were found to be Rangers shareholders when the old club went bust as well as Campbell ogilvie who passed his shareholding to his wife while at Hearts.

Just been reading JohnJames blog on that nonsense piece in the Record by some guy called Mooney.
It was the bit at the end that got me.
According to JJ , King was invited down to Sports Direct H Q on the pretext of a meeting with Ashley.
Instead of Ashley, the balliffs were waiting and presented King with the summons to appear at the High Court on the contempt charge next month.
If that is anyway true, its absolutely brilliant

It would be like a scene in the movie the Goodfellows, when wee Tommy goes to the meeting with the Bosses to get made.
And gets a nasty surprise.
