Ya big dirty bas.... :). Wanted Anderson. Was tempted to take him 1st pick. Never mind. I'll take Jeremy Hill instead.

Good pick. A much more proven performer than Beckham Jr. IMO.
Was hoping to get Dez Bryant again this year but I'll settle for Megatron!

Not to mention he doesn't have Eli Manning throwing to him
Sorry chaps I can't let this go Megatron was trounced in fantasy by Beckham last year. I'm not expecting the guy to recreate his stats from his rookie season but I think he's proven over 12 games that he is an absolute stud. Megatron has been serviceable the last few years but he's not the player he was and is injured too much.

Plus Stafford is hardly Joe Namath!

Always wondered how good he would have been playing with a good QB.

Beckham's stats dropped off toward the end of the season because the surprise element dropped away and he found himself the target of primary coverage, which he often struggled in. Johnson always finds himself as a key target for defense and still puts up epic numbers, season upon season...

Stafford throws the ball more than Manning, who uses his RB's a lot more.

But given the chance to have either in the Patriots lineup on opening day, I would probably opt for Beckham

Amen to all that. No questioning Beckhams skills but I'm amazed he went higher than guys like Megatron AJ Green and Julio Jones. I'd want to see him doing that for more than just one season before I'd put him in the very top tier of receivers. We'll see what happens when the season starts

Thats why i ended up taking Wilson, had Stafford and Flacco last year and both were horrible. Plus he now has Jimmy Graham to throw at.

You *******. I was hoping he would be available later, didn't think QBs would be picked so early....

Thats my problem with a 16 team league, there's no chance he's available when it gets to me in round 3 so best take him now.

I really should have came into this with some sort of strategy

I'm stunned and a little disheartened to see QB's being snapped up this early! I reckoned we'd have been at least round 3 or 4 before the QB's started coming off the board.

16th place - finsagogo - marshawn lynch (rb, seahawks)
15th place - byrds and the brees - adrian peterson (rb, vikings)
14th place - uber alles - aaron rodgers (qb, packers)
13th place - haymakers patriots - robert gronkowski (te, patriots)
12th place - the late hits - eddy lacy (rb, packers)
    11th place - the tyneside 12s - le'veon bell (rb, steelers)
10th place - the uphill gardeners - jamaal charles (rb, chiefs)
9th place - ragin' cajuns - arian foster (rb, texans)
8th place - the celek few - dez bryant (wr, cowboys)
7th place - no romo - antonio brown (wr, steelers)
6th place - hampshire claymores - demarco murray (rb, eagles)
5th place - the revis islanders - odell beckham jr. (wr, giants)
4th place - boston bawbags -matt forte (rb, bears)
3rd place - edinburgh giants -lesean mccoy (rb, bills)
2nd place - edinburgh dolphins -calvin johnson (wr, lions)
1st place - sergio -demaryius thomas (wr, broncos)

round 1 complete, on to round 2:

    16th place - finsagogo
15th place - byrds and the brees
    14th place - uber alles
    13th place - haymakers patriots

I was tempted to take Luck as one of my two picks, but then I'd have been left pretty exposed at RB or WR. If you don't get Luck or Rodgers then there's a big group of starting QB's that are much of a muchness in terms of fantasy, capable of big scores and small scores in equal measure, so it isn't worth stretching for them IMHO. My draft strategy of waiting for a QB worked last year, so I'm going to stick to that.

You've got to take what the draft gives you in a 16 teamer. If you look back at last year's draft then you'll see that Sergio was last to take a QB (Big Ben) and won the league. I took Stafford as the 2nd to last starting QB the year before and won the league.

it depends on the player though. IMO Russell Wilson is a great early pick for lots of reasons; he's likely to be let off the leash to throw more this season, we're moving to a more passing based scheme, we've got Jimmy now, he's still going to get loads of points with his running etc etc. I also think there's some good young prospects at RB for this season that will be available later on (I hope!)

ive done ok at fantasy up to now by just picking the players and teams I think are due big seasons.
