He'll delist them. Then he can do what he pleases, no pesky regulations.

There's merit in that, but it would make finance much more difficult.

It's also a kick in the baws for all the fans who recently bought shares.

Did Dave King take trusted journos out for a lamb dinner before returning home? Is there a limit to how many days he can spend in Scotland for tax reasons?

It does seem bizarre that his coup has resulted in so much noise and so little action. Oh and rumours of falling behind with HMRC too. It's like Craig Whyte all over again.
Depending on his circumstances he probably can't spend over 90 days in the UK. It may however be up to 183 days before he becomes UK resident.

    Yeah it has been:)

One might have thought that King, with all his credibility and impeccable record, would have been better placed to persuade the City to invest.

Has he actually said where the money is coming from? Or, as is suggested, has he left Douglas Park to sort out that sort of trivial detail?

McMurdo states HMRC have not been paid for last month. Hopefully CWG or others can clarify as I thought NI & VAT were both paid quarterly. However if he means that a quarterly payment was missed last month then they're in real trouble, I believe Sevco have to automatically advise SPFL/SFA within 2 days of receiving a statement from HMRC. ( that would give them about 30 days grace ). IIRC if they then don't have an agreed payment schedule with HMRC they will be in default which effectively means they can't register players & so they're bollo -ed! That would be really sad though I don't really have too much faith in McMurdo's credibility!

NIC is payable monthly with PAYE. VAT is normally quarterly, although it can be monthly.

I've assumed that this alleged bill (which I had read was due at the end of March) is VAT. For me, the problem is less about the SFA or SPFL rules, and more about simple cash flow.

That all said, there are a lot of holes in McMurdo's story, so I share your scepticism.

His record is unpeckable, I am sure I read it somewhere in the Scottish media - the one thing he ain't going to do is put up any cash any time soon - someone else will have to do it whilst he and his acolytes wear the badges of ownership. Dodgy dave will be actively raising investment cash from anyone who will listen to him in the gap whilst simultaneously trying to find a nomad who are prepared to run the risk- meantime the clock is ticking.

Delighted the huns went for this option as even now the only one who has put actual money in remains Ashley.

Does that mean he will be able to refuse to pay tax for years over here as well?

The last 'Warning' from their so-called 'Admins' was over a year ago -

Ok, so once again we find ourselves bogged down in petty insults and personal abuse. We try to give leeway and not be too heavy-handed, but sadly it seems you can't behave yourselves without someone breathing down your necks, so here we are.

We are now going to adopt a zero tolerance approach to personal abuse and the terms that go with it. This will include, but not be limited to, terms like ****, taig, taig-like, ******, rhebel (or any other word with an 'h' added in for effect), ********, ****er, moron,...

For clarity, this will apply to all personal abuse between posters, and also extend to all current and potential board members and staff. We can all discuss their shortcomings without resorting to these insults.

Anyone dishing out abuse will have their post removed and be issued a warning. Posters who cannot heed warnings will be issued with temporary posting suspensions, anyone who still can't accept this and wants to make themselves a martyr to the cause will have their wish granted.

It's ridiculous that it has come to this, but we will be enforcing this rule and we need your help to do it. If you see any abuse, each post has a 'Report' button on it. Please use this to keep us informed, and we will deal with the abuse appropriately.

A quick click on the link and go on to ANY of the threads is enough to show this 'Warning' is nothing more than lip-service as all these banned terms/words/phrases feature in every single thread !. Nothing but a hate-filled meeting-place for all the dregs of their support !! Open site but the Police don't seem to know it exists !!

It beggars belief that Dave King can organise an EGM one week to force Mike Ashley's guys off the board, and then go asking for the further £5m loan the next.

What's that Mike? You want to put a few more conditions against the loan? What a surprise!

    It's a fair point, though.

Those who voted for DK probably didn't have this scenario in mind. They voted to get rid of Ashley's influence, not cement it even further.

Can you see them 'doing a Hearts', and going into admin about a week after the season ends?

Question...What would happen if they went in to administration when the playoffs were underway?

It would be the smartest time to do it, probably.

However, that would depend if they had a buyer lined up already. My gut feeling, though, is that the affairs of the current company are so convoluted, that such a scenario would probably take time.

It wouldn't make a difference to the play-offs. QOS, Falkirk and us would just get on with it.

Edit.... oh, you mean if Rangers were in them?

Good question, and one that there's probably no consideration for in the rule books. I suspect that whatever club had missed out would be raging at the SPFL, but ultimately left on the sidelines.

In reality, RFC would start next season minus 25 points, wherever they ended up.

If they carry on their bad run and QOS and Falkirk look like finishing ahead of them, you could see them taking the points hit before the season is out.

Admin is really the only way for them to escape from all those contracts. The problem is that they need to buy him out first as MA has security over all the assets.

That would be cheating of the highest order. Should have points deduction carried over until the next season

Those are the rules, so I don't see why they should.

Indeed, a 25 point hit might take them into the play-off battle at the bottom.

Nothing new then. They screw the corner shop out of £1500 then go on to pay fatty Boyd £7k a week.

The points deduction would carry over if they were still in admin when the new season started.

Alloa and Cowdenbeath are on 19, so it's not cut and dried.

However, my point is that the rules are known at the start of the season, and clubs can use these to their advantage.
