Put simply. Heart of Midlothian FC is dying, slowly but dying.

I hope the 1902, 5-1, Big Team singing supporters feel years of pain and regret while Hearts Newco is created and struggles in the lower leagues before eventually getting back into the professional leagues sharing a stadium with the likes of Livingston.

If they are liquidated, lose their ground etc and come back as a newco. Do you think they'd apply to ground share at Easter rd?

OUR WORK IS FAR FROM OVER
Foundation chairman Ian Murray considers recent developments

I’ll be honest. By now when you realise I’m about to say something you probably know that it means I’m about to bash the drum and get out the begging bowl. It’s what I’ve done for the last ten months since taking on the chair of the Foundation of Hearts, after all.
So you will understand that there was a genuine sense of relief for me personally, when we were able to confirm Ann Budge’s role within the Foundation, as our funder, and indeed that she will become (as long as the deal goes through) the club’s new executive chairwoman.

My own role as Foundation chairman will change now, and quite rightly the focus will be on Ann and the club. She will lead the club decisively to prepare it for real supporter ownership and will need us all to continue to support the club, the Foundation and her team.

There’s a lot still to be done, so our work is far from over – be in no doubt! We have the broad-based principles of the Foundation’s agreement with BIDCO, but now begin that typically painstaking task of letting the lawyers bash out the detail, which can then be signed upon exiting administration.

Thereafter there’s a process of introducing formal membership to the Foundation, by holding our first AGM, which will happen in a few months’ time. These are very much major administrative processes.

And, back on that old money theme, there’s the most important bit, encouraging you, our amazing supporters, to continue to contribute month in, month out and how we can recognise this commitment properly. This is part of the discussion we will have with you.

But for once I’m not going to ask you to keep contributing, or to share this email with others, or any other “call to action”. I’m just going to say a genuine thank you.

Hopefully I’ve helped to play a part in helping you decide to set up a long-standing commitment to the Foundation, but it is a real team effort. We’re backed by outstanding professional advisers and we have a committed board – a real coalition from across the supporter base, often of differing views but it wouldn’t be football if that wasn’t the case. They are, however, totally united in one sole ambition: to see Hearts survive and prosper. Some of us have had to learn new skills, and we’ve certainly learnt a lot from each other.

We now know the path in front of us – it’s up to a five-year commitment as a starting point, and then when we’ve secured the club from private ownership for the last time, you can decide openly what we do for the future, as Ann said in her email last week. It’s a discussion which I know will be passionate, engaging and constructive.

But for now, I hope everyone’s efforts focus on the immediate future, to backing Ann, to supporting the club, and to contributing to the Foundation of Hearts.

When one of our founder directors coined the phrase that we must ‘create history’, did anyone imagine we would really, genuinely, for sure, have an opportunity that every other football supporter in this country should dream of? I don’t know.

But now fans from Scotland, England and beyond look at what is now (and be in no doubt about this) Scottish football’s greatest supporter movement, and one of its greatest ever stories that adds another colourful chapter to the history of Heart of Midlothian Football Club.

I knew there would be an element of political and personal risk taking on the chair of the Foundation of Hearts. After all, without bringing politics into this, I am a sitting MP, with a very small majority, a significant Shadow Ministerial portfolio and an incredibly busy constituency. Do I regret it? Not for a moment but I have had to re-emphasise time and time again that I have been doing this in my spare time (sometimes I wish my hobby was collecting stamps, it would be easier!).

Hearts for me, like so many, is part of my family and if I could use my spare time to make a real difference then I should. How could I let all those hours and hours of recollection about wonderful Hearts trips and moments with my brother and friends be merely consigned to history?

And do you know the best bit that should excite us all? The journey hasn’t even begun.

    Ian Murray MP
    Chairman, Foundation of Hearts
    AFTER THE DARKEST HOUR
    Hearts star Ryan Stevenson writes

As players, hearing that the club was going into administration was a day we were all dreading but a day we knew was eventually going to come. The days, weeks and months that followed have been a real test, seeing people at the club lose their jobs - honest people who love Hearts, who support the club, who loved working there, who have bills and mortgages to pay and families to provide for.

It was truly heartbreaking - something that will live with me forever.

There's a saying that after the darkest hour comes the dawn. Through the Foundation and through every fan that pledges money every month to our club, we are seeing that dawn. Witnessing people making sacrifices and digging deep to keep this club alive is something that you cannot explain in words. For me, it has been truly humbling. It proves clearly that we are more than just a football club; we are a family. We are one HEART still beating and now, with the Foundation at the front, we are only going to get stronger.

Getting Hearts back where it truly belongs is a dream that every fan and every player shares, and together we can make this happen.

On behalf of myself and all the boys, we would like to say thank you for your support. It has been truly amazing, week in, week out. Every time we pull on a Hearts jersey it is with enormous pride, not only because we represent such a great club but also because we represent such amazing, loyal fans like yourself.

Thank you, and all the best

    Stevo

NOT ONLY EVOLUTIONARY – IT’S REVOLUTIONARY

    MESSAGE FROM ANN BUDGE

    Photo: Jeff Holmes
“Since the message I sent to supporters on 18 February, I have had many responses - some by email, some by letter. To everyone who has contacted me, I would like to thank you for taking the time to do so. Some of the correspondence expressed specific concerns; others offered advice. However, all of it has been extremely supportive of what we are trying to achieve and of the part I will play.

“The Foundation of Hearts initiative has, of course, grown out of fans’ commitment to saving our club, and it was clear from the emails and messages I received that this commitment remains as strong and dynamic as ever. I know that at times there may be differences of opinion among us as together we take this project forward. I will reiterate, however, what has been said many times before: that – should the final hurdles be cleared to enable this initiative to move ahead - there will be a new era of openness and transparency in our relationship with you, the supporters. I am very much looking forward to taking on the challenges facing us all.”

Meadowbank is not an option. It's in worse condition than Tynecastle.
Their options would be Murrayfield, Easter road, Livingston or East End Park.
I suspect they would try to make Murrayfield work at first before resorting to one of the other three.

    1. The F of H announcement sounds like a strategic withdrawal from MP Ian Murray, appropriately not dissimilar to Napoleon's retreat from Moscow, or Hitler's from Stalingrad!

"should the final hurdles be cleared to enable this initiative to move ahead"

I wonder if any of the poor wee lambs, can read that sentence?

Rather than deciding on which players they want, which manager should come in, maybe, just maybe, they might realize their club is slowly getting flushed away. Too be honest, the stench is lingering too long now and I hope the actual flush happens sooner rather than later.

I'm an MP (or "IMP" for short) said "Some of us have had to learn new skills".

With pontification and self-aggrandizement skills deeply ingrained, I imagine he must be talking about face painting, cake baking or setting up direct debits.

I thought the significant thing was the phrase 'should the final hurdles be cleared'.

    Not 'when'.

  15. #40034
"should the final hurdles be cleared to enable this initiative to move ahead"

The most significant part of the whole statement surely.

Well if it turns out that Hearts do go into liquidation he has, in the grand tradition of politicians everywhere, timed his exit rather nicely. Out of the firing line before the **** hits the fan, loads of publicity and no accountability.

Budge will pick up the club name and the cheap unwanted players at the liquidation fire-sale and play them as a rent-a-ground club until they build a new stadium. They might be able to squeeze one in here where it looks like there would be enough room for a wee lowland league compliant stadium.

Don't be daft you silly bitter hobos, this is what all big clubs do. Don't you see they are close to being fan owned? So very close. Of course they will immediately be handing the club over to a sole individual again but that's not important right now.

The MP is pulling out but there's nothing wrong with pulling out, in fact it's an excellent form of contraception. He's just being effective.

Then there's the human colouring book. His statement brings a tear to any true Hearts fans eye. He says it was a day all the Hearts players were dreading but even though some of them have previously said they had no idea when it was coming but that's ok, he's just covering all the bases. He's clearly a Hearts man through and through. He talks about loyalty and he's obviously very loyal to Hearts, apart from yon time he walked out because he wasn't getting paid but Hearts aren't The Rangers and Hearts players can do walking away as long as they come back again and pretend like nothing ever happened.

Like I said, we are just sad bitter hobos. We don't even realise this email was sent on the 5-3-2014. Budge isnae daft.

I feel even more in their shadow now that they have the biggest supporter movement ever. I'm also envious of their proposed business plan. All other British football fans will be too, no doubt about it.

    Reading between the lines....

-Foundation chairman Ian Murray considers recent developments
-as long as the deal goes through
-There’s a lot still to be done, so our work is far from over
    - We now know the path in front of us – it’s up to a five-year commitment as a starting point
-I am a sitting MP, with a very small majority, a significant Shadow Ministerial portfolio and an incredibly busy constituency. ... but I have had to re-emphasise time and time again that I have been doing this in my spare time
    -The journey hasn’t even begun
    - what we are trying to achieve
    - should the final hurdles be cleared to enable this initiative to move ahead
    - there will be a new era

Sounds to me that they know it ain't gonna happen, they will be liquidated and all this is to set up Hearts II, with a 5 year plan to get bak to the top flight, starting form the bottom.

Ian Murray knows this and needs to get back to his day job to save his seat, which he has by a small majority.

The newco journey starts next season ... in league 2

Again this is another staging post for when the inevitable agreement of the CVA and "unfreezing" of shares happens. No so long ago his source was telling him we wouldn't last past January and we'd liquidated, no CVA agreement blah blah - watch his posts once it becomes clear we're coming out of admin - it'll be my source says they'll get out of it - but its not all rosy etc etc......
I find it curious that they copy and paste my posts regularly but never bother doing it with the ones where they claim I am wrong.

His post makes no sense - if we last till the close season - prize money and ST sales will see us through and we all know if needs be FoH will step in (assuming we all agree) to help fund us. Total nonsense as usual.
It would perhaps help if they bothered reading the post they've copied as well because I clearly stated "They can't sell Season Tickets". Ian Murray himself has confirmed this.

Ian: As stated earlier, STs only on sale post-admin, and once we know what division. Club / BIDCO working on plan.

I seen this today and I think I have solved the share problem!!

This rubber stamp that the share transfer/thawing is dependent on, is there a chance Hearts have been trying to use the wrong kind of stamp due to a shortage of these master craftsmen?

Perhaps a wax seal is what is really required to do the job but they can't get hold of the correctly embossed stamp!

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-26434818

Maybe they could use one of Gary "Medals" Mackay's many medals to imprint the wax seal on the share transfer document. That ought to do the trick!
