I just get the feeling they are happy to plod along indefinitely in Admin and as long as nobody rocks the boat any further, they'll just to try to see the season out in admin then worry about next season when it comes.

They don't have the money to do that.

The request for people to buy extra Season Tickets was to literally buy them enough time to see them through Admin. They took in enough to keep them going for, IIRC, roughly 3 1/2 months.

Once the money runs out, they can't pay players or other bills any more and would have to either put out the begging bowl for a third time or liquidate the club.

As Trevor Birch has already alluded, they'll put the next year's STs on sale. Unless the Ukio admin moves, this could go on and on ...

Meanwhile, the best indicator we could get of Tiny's market value* is under offer:

    Wonder how much?

*actually the old school is probably worth less/acre as more of it lies close to the distillery and it has a B listed frontage.

And is entirely within the COMAH zone which prevents use for housing. Only the NW corner of the football ground is affected in the same way.

I haven't. It would be strange to hold an evening meeting at the uni anyway I think. Why get people to trek all the way out there?

The money was to keep the club going for that period in the event of no further income. They have money coming in from match day revenues just now and this would be enough to sustain them for as long as possible. If Hearts aren't making enough money to survive now, they never will.

Didn't read the full story but on the front of the EEN tonight is the headline "Sold Out" stating that the council have sold the 250 capacity car park used by the Yams on Match days.... didn't see anymore of the story but sure AllisBarry will have it online soon enough.

The spin on the story was this is NOT good news for the Poppy Stealers.....

"Former Hearts chairman Lord George Foulkes criticised the council for hitting the club when it was already struggling. He said: “There was no discussion about this, they just came and asked for the keys of the car park. Everyone else is bending over backwards to help the club – fans are doing what they can, the administrators are being helpful, most bodies are going out of their way to help.

“It really is very strange the council should take this attitude. Fans will be disappointed and annoyed. I hope they will think again.”"

Was this the site that Hearts agreed a deal to buy, subject to planning permission, with the council a few years back? If so, the Council have subsidised Hearts for the last few years allowing them to use the car park FOC whilst it cost the council £80,000 per year to keep the site. What a monumental waste of the councils money. They should have sold it years ago. Foulkes has a cheek suggesting that the council should hold onto an unused asset which could be sold for a couple of £m and pay £80,000 a year to maintain it just because Hearts are in a bad way. Ridiculous.

Very strange why does Lord Foulkes want a public funded body to bend over backwards to help a business that has bumped public funded bodies for hundreds of thousands. He himself enjoys a fair whack from the public purse and as a politician you'd expect him to look at the bigger public interest.

Why does the EN feel it has to challenge the council? Hopefully the sale is a good commercial one that aids the public purse, who knows it might help compensate for the various yam related shortfalls they have suffered.

What right do they feel they had to this car park?

    Oh, the irony of it!

An overrated, overpaid mouthpiece who has lived off the public purse for years criticising a public body which has lost tens of thousands through unpaid council tax from HMFC.

He wants the Council to continue to lose money so that the cheats can continue to prosper. Time he got his priorities re-organised methinks and remembers that he is there to represent the public in general and not his own narrow interest in HMFC .

Not really. I have now just found out the council have been paying £80,000 per annum to maintain a free car park for Hearts players and Directors. What a joke and the evening news have the cheek to paint the Council as the baddies.

Reads like media manipulation tactics similar to the HWU story about Hearts losing their facilities there. No doubt they will come to a mutual agreement. Shameless, scrounging ****ers that thinks the world owes them their existence.

Well tae be fair it's only because of their victories in two worlds wars that we have a free world tae exist in.

Imagine the cooncil doing what's best for the city instead of continuing tae be bumped by them efter losing tens of thousands already.

Disappointed the One nation labour party doesn't pick up on this sort of stuff as its potentially damaging to the party, unless they really believe there are 400,000 yam voters out there and that they all know how to do an X when it comes to voting.

    Quite.

The EN might be better asking why the cash-strapped council have been paying (our money) for an asset, which it has gifted to a foreign-owned private company.

What a joke! Public bodies are struggling to finance basic services such as care of the elderly or schools/nurseries, yet they give a private company that is shafting the public purse for £100,000s in unpaid taxes already an £80k a year subsidy!

Do any other Scottish football clubs enjoy council subsidised car parks?

Yes, it is galling that the meedja continue to paint that cheating bunch as the victims whereas the real victims of the their financial doping from charities to local councils to HMRC to small local businesses to other football clubs etc etc who have been ripped off for literally millions are never spared a second thought.

    That's how I remember it.

    And according to the EN:
While it creates an unwelcome problem for Hearts, the potential sale of the former Tynecastle High site will provide a welcome boost to the city’s coffers – and remove a significant financial burden.

In June, the News revealed how the city council has spent almost £250,000 of taxpayers’ money maintaining the former Tynecastle High over the last three years

Where's the outrage that they waited until this Spring (?) to put the site up for sale, to stop the haemorrhage of council tax payers money?

Which, in the interests of fairness to all the other clubs in the league and also the increasingly hard-pressed taxpayer, should mean that they pay an economic rent for any use they make of public land. But it probably won't.

The council are now selling up, really would be interested to find out who and for how much the small car park has hone for. Hopefully Lovell affordable housing will let us know .....

The EEN have responded to me on twitter. A bit of backtracking going on. They agree with the action, not the timing.

When it comes to providing cash for hard pressed public services for those who do pay their taxes timing is crucial, the sooner the council get the cash in the better, only priority here, especially as they were losing money paying for the car park.

What's wrong with the timing? That it happened while homfc are in admin?

The een didn't like my comment that I couldn't wait for hmfc to die, and removed it. Must be yams on mod duty today.

On another note, who owns that old bank building on St Andrew Square? i don't know who actually bought it, Romanov, Ukio or Ubig. Maybe the asset transfers to the Bank that took over Ukio.
