    consumer rights

Bought the daughter a tablet from Currys at Christmas but had to return it after 3 months due to it not charging. I have the insurance do they repaired it by replacing the motherboard etc. It then worked fine for another month but the exact same problem has happened again. Phoned them up try to get a refund but they say I'm not entitled as id had it for a few months so "I accepted it was working". I asked how many repairs they would try before refunding me. They said they wouldn't refund as they would only replace it if it couldn't be fixed.
Is this correct ? They are going to end up having it more than my daughter.

    Any ideas ?

According to the Sale of Goods Act I'd expect a sufficient repair, but as they have tried to remedy a repair then I'd demand, and be entitled to an exchange. SOGA reckons you could also be offered a refund.
The best thing to do is give the CAB a call, furnish yourself with correct advice then speak to the most senior person at the store, if no satisfactory resolution is found, a recorded letter sent to the head office.

    Best of luck!

Cheers mate. Popped in today and its away for repair again. If it happens again they are going to replace it with equivalent or greater.

    Happy enough.
