Someone with enough money (eg. a yam STF - though there doesn't seem to be one ) could see that as a sound enough long term investment and immediate tax write-off, without the need to see any return in the short term. One of my bosses (a property developer) is making too much money and is currently buying up swathes of land all over France to reduce his tax bill. Most of it won't be touched until well after he's retired but in the long term there's very little risk.
Get him to go see our Rod.....a proper football club, run well but could do with investment.

The brokebackers aren't happy one little bit with the 'cash or cheque' news.

There must be a lot of people who don't even have cheque books now, so basically it's queue at the PBS or nothing.

I think they're seriously bricking their maroon nappies now. Not that you'd see it.

if you accepted credit card payments, knowing you might/will default on the supply would that be fraud?

the fat lady has opened her gub, there's seconds left now IMHO.

its cash or cheque only..............so all the great plans on getting money back via credit card if it all fails is gone, plus it basically means folks are going to need a large wad of cash up front......wouldnt want to be walking around gorgie with a few hundred notes in my back pocket!!!!
Uh oh. Chances of hitting that 3,000 sales target just moved from slim to zero.

@BarryAnderson_8: BDO say it will take months for #Hearts to exit admin, meaning #HMFC unable to register new players this summer. See EN today #SaveOurHearts

Broke back is claiming that payments by CC's will be accepted its just they would prefer cash?

To any brokebackers looking in I would advise your best route is to buy your season ticket via your main sponsor "Wonga" and spread the cost over 2 seasons at a very attractive rate a win/win situation supporting your sponsor and club

IIRC the CC or merchant pulled the plug a while back as they werent getting the commission payments they were due, im guessing this is still in place, alternatively it is now due to them being in administration and teetering on insolvency so to high risk for them, that and the people who might use a CC to purchase a ST may not have the funds to pay it back and therefor they will aso default, how do they stop the use of the ST and also should they still go 'pop' then the ST would be nil and void anyway.

Can't have been Bazza as there is no positive spin on it. If it had been Bazza he would have said that it will help Hearts manage their cash flow by not signing players.

It beggars belief that the halfwits in the press even ask these questions. They've just gone into Administration and they're asking when they can start signing players again.

Which would also have an impact with the SPFL meeting, if they cant sign players, sacking some, selling others then they couldnt guarantee to have a team to put on the park week in and week out once injuries and suspensions also impact a threadbare squad.

Again goes back to insurances they can fulfil fixtures which they surely couldnt do.

Maybe we should organise a flash mob down at Tynecastle. Make it look like there is a mad rush to buy tickets and then everyone disappears as quickly as they came.

Seems the type of guy, that says that the room is awfully dark.
Then after considerable time, he realises he's wearing his sun glasses.

  18. #21347
The rationale behind this is that "All the administrator is asking is that we sell as many season tickets as we did last year". The total may be similar but you're wanting them sold by the start of July instead of the middle of August, which is when season ticket sales normally dry up.

If that's the case I wonder if the clearing company is holding the funds back due to the risk, similar to what E-Clear did to cause Flyglobespan to eventually go bust.

    That would be tremendous.

    Pseuds Corner Beckons...

"SUNSHINE glared over Tynecastle, ironically on the bleakest day yet in Hearts’ history. The ground was shrouded in silence save for media ambling around outside. Behind the walls of the stadium office block, administrators BDO swung ruthlessly into action..."

I've been blocked by Barry. Never abused him, no bad language. Only ever asked him the difference between Self-Sustaining and Self-Reliant. Doesn't like discussing the English language apparently.

It's incredible. Ewan Murray the Jambo journalist tweeted last night that he thought a deal would be done by Monday and they needed to get out of Admin ASAP as they needed to buy players. He obviously forgot about the admin process taking months not to mention to oh so small matter of a SPL (very very likely) transfer embargo until end of year if not whole season for non payment of wages.

In the yams world it's ok to forget about the debt to the Lithuanians, police, utility companies, local newsagent, suppliers etc etc not to mention sacking players and staff.......then less than 24 hours later talk about recruiting players 'cause Lockie will need a team on the park to challenge Celtic'.

    Twats the lot of them.

Anyone with a cheque book should get down to tiny and get themselves a ST........then cancel the cheque.

Or am I taking this a step too far???

I actually think the yams are daft enough to cough up more cash. But its just delaying liquidation. Tick tock

Euan is a victim in all this too. His job is on the line if he has no Hearts to talk about.

Pity Hearts minded journos weren't asking questions before now. Or was it just that no one would listen?

Had a conversation with a yam at work who kept talking about things that will happen "when the new owners come in". Clowns still think they are immune to reality.

I have dealt with many journos/reporters over the years and for the life of me have absolutely no idea how Barry Anderson is still in a job, not only does he appear to copy and paste, quote his own opinion on what is going on with no substance or fact or just constantly repeats the same line.

He clearly isnt reading/seeing/hearing the body language and statements from the administrator or SPL in regards to the absolute dire straights, the club does not have one single penny in the bank and are still wading through the utter financial mess, also completely forgotten/ignored the comments from SPL regards to further punishment and transfer embargo.

Absolute plum and about as bright as a blackout.

Interesting piece in today's EEN (not penned by Banderson):

    http://www.scotsman.com/edinburgh-ev...push-1-2973121

Administrator Trevor Birch, who helped haul Portsmouth out of administration, said outside of voluntary donations there was nowhere else to go apart from the fans to generate as much as £750,000 needed for Hearts to survive to the start of the new season.

He said: “There is literally no cash in the bank at all. At least on day one at Portsmouth, there was cash in the bank. The plea has to be to the fans to come forward yet again – and I know they’ve been effectively milked time and time again – but this really is the last rallying call to save the club.”
No credible offers to buy the club had been put to BDO as of late yesterday.
So yesterdays meeting with the UK consortium was a crock of ***** then.

The Yams I work with think it's all going to be rosy and debt free with a new owner when the CVA gets agreed. Leaves me with a sour taste given we lived within our means during their Pieman and Vlad excesses.
