Exactly. Think back to 1990. When news broke of Mercer planning to take over the club, people were rallying at Easter Road protesting and demanding answers. The fans rallied together and fought tooth and nail to save the club. Hearts fans have done very very little as many of them are still living in the fantasy world Vlad created for them. Pathetic excuse of a club. They have no sympathy from me, their delusion and arrogance that they are such a super power club has led to their downfall, instead of taking action years ago like they should have they just continued to swallow every lie like the deluded, guilable morons they are.

Sad thing is, that desipite everything thats going on, many of them still have their heads in the sand and believe everything is brilliant. Unbelievable.
Exactly what I woulda liked to have written if it wasn't for this bloody phone. Almost bizarre the way hearts fans are reacting to this.

Actually it's not that bizarre. It's hard for jambos to read when their eyes are playing tig.

I know how this type of post come across so I'll state beforehand I understand any skepticism. It's not all new info but still.

I've just had a lengthy chat with someone who works at Hearts (I work in media, behind the scenes so have a few contacts and friends in football) I won't say who, for obvious reasons, but they are definitely someone who is "in the know". Anyway, here's a few of the interesting bits.

Hearts are really struggling and not just financially. Morale is rock bottom amongst non-playing staff and they are pretty much just going through the motions now.

It's incredibly unlikely they'll make the start of the season, they need to sell a few thousand more season tickets just to reach what they previously thought was their worst case scenario.

Money "never stays in one place long". It's literally been spent as soon as it's getting recieved just now.

It's all about saving the club now, hence the selling of players. If that means having a horrible season because the best players have gone then so be it.

The SPL have thus far been "very unhelpful". I got the impression Hearts expected help akin to Rangers and Gretna. They asked for an advance on TV money. The SPL said this isn't possible as if Hearts spend it and still don't make the start of the season then thats less money for their replacement. Rangers had commercial clout that Hearts just simply do not have. "The SPL is surviving better than expected without Rangers, losing Hearts is not overly concerning"

The SPL are "like flies round poo". They've got a lawyer on retainer in Lithuania to give them advice on UBIG and Ukio. They are asking difficult questions of Hearts. "Wouldn't be surprised if Hearts are made an example of"

FOH is just PR, the club doesn't think they'll actually be able to get an acceptable bid together but they are letting them go through the motions because it doesn't want to be seen to be against the option because they aren't, its just realistically not going to happen.

The club is only aware of the "Scandinavian Bid" through the media, they know nothing about them and have had no contact as of this morning. "A lot of work is needed for any bid and time is not on anyones side.

Overall the outlook for them is incredibly bleak. "It's a massive uphill battle" and "the club is on life support". Avoiding administration is unlikely without several bits of good fortune. Believes if they do go into admin then more bidders will step forward. "The web of debt" and the shareholding and Tynecastle are huge causes for concern. Even if they do avoid it "it'll be quite sometime before success is expected " but whatever happens there are people who will "be working to the bitter end"

I'm sure there are some bits I've forgotten. The overall mood was one of dejection and grief. Some of them really love the club and believe in it. They want to shed this "cheats and criminals" moniker and just get a fresh start. I asked why they were so open with me but not someone who could go public on a larger scale and they said "The media doesn't want to be responsible for killing a club, STV are the only bee in Hearts bonnet" I said "What about Barry Anderson" they said "Polite enough but denser than a slab of lead" and "He's a reporter, will never be a journalist.

doesn't surprise me in the slightest how they have reacted to all the carry on thats happened over the last few years tbh mate. Vlad has created this huge fantasy world where they believe they are a huge massive club and they are going to get world cup stars/huge stadium/SPL titles/challenging in Europe etc etc. The mutants have for years, and many continue to do so, hung on his every word so instead of waking up and seeing the grim reality, they go merrily along with this ridiculous delusion. I hope reality hits them painfully in the face.

Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
    They're burning into the night

There's too many men, too many people
    Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Oh, superman, where are you now?
    When everything's gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, these men of power
Are losing control by the hour

This is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go around
Tell me why this is a land of confusion

So the moves for Boyd, Goodwillie, Skacel and Wotherspoon will be put on hold a couple weeks then?

It's only a matter of time before they're challenging Celtic for the league.

    Anyway there you have it.

If only this could go public .... They would be jumping off bridges :-)

That's what they did with oldco Huns... told the (better) players to sit tight until the summer, when they pocketed tasty signing on fees from clubs in lieu of transfer fees that they didn't have to pay to acquire them.
If that is their plan, I think I can see a teeny tiny flaw in it.

I'll give you a clue- it's to do with the words "better players".

Yams now warm favourites for relegation: 6/4 @ Skybet and 7/4 @ Victor. Providing of course they make it to the start of the season.

my favourite bit from that page

    HEARTS' PRIZED ASSETS?
    •Jamie MacDonald
    •Jason Holt
    •Andy Webster
    •Ryan Stevenson
    •Kevin McHattie
    •Callum Paterson
    •John Sutton
    •Jamie Hamill
    •Jamie Walker

    Let's see...

Macdonald - no, you could get better for free

Holt, McHattie, Paterson & Walker - buying "potential" rather than proven ability, plus Hearts might be difficult to deal with if you try to lowball them (cf Southern's comments yesterday)

Webster - he's out of contract FFS

Stevenson - you must be joking

Sutton - some teams might be interested in signing him (good track record at M'well), but only on a free

Hamill - just coming off a cruciate FFS

Can we not get that blown right up and hire a billboard in Gorgie with something like "Your always welcome at Easter Road" they would hit the roof. But like Tevez when he went to City.

So the moves for Boyd, Goodwillie, Skacel and Wotherspoon will be put on hold a couple weeks then?

It's only a matter of time before they're challenging Celtic for the league.
When are the world cup stars arriving?
