They're all on about buying their season tickets on a credit card to protect their money but why arent the credit card companies all over this. They have dimishing prospects of seeing the start of the season let alone completing it.

They all seem to think that it is all very simple and the club will be picked up for peanuts. Every one of them seems to forget that UKIO have security over the stadium and assets and that no one, other than Hearts minded folk will apparently be allowed to bid. UKIO are also expected to bend over and take it willingly and be grateful.

I'm sure I read in T's & C's at one point that if you can reasonably be expected to know there may be a problem in getting your goods and/or service fulfilled then the Credit Card insurance thingy can be deemed invalid..... and as there's loads of mentions on brokeback that admin is only a matter of time then I think they might be pi**ing in the wind when they try to get their season ticket money back!

Nothing to do with credit card companies. In the event of a chargeback, it would be the company who processed the transaction who would be liable for the debt.

Having worked in the industry and managed the accounts of a few different football clubs where season tickets were being purchased on a card and we had concerns about the business, I would normally withhold settlement of the funds an released these back to the club over the season as our exposure reduced. That way of the club was to fail and their fixtures were not fulfilled we would always have a level of security to protect against the expected chargebacks.

That might be in the terms and conditions but means nothing under card scheme rules. If you have paid for a service on your card (MasterCard Credit, Visa Credit and Visa Debit only) and that service has not been fulfilled i.e paying in advance for entry to watch almost 20 home games of football then you have a right to claim that money back via a chargeback.

Surely a Season Ticket is only valid until the final game. If their season is over in August they've got what they paid for.

Thanks, that is informative. You could have a situation where they have reportedly sold 6500 STs, but if most of those are sold by credit card, they won't have received anything like as much cash as you would expect based on those sales. It would be ironic if Jambos buying their STs on credit cards, in an attempt to be clever, have actually shafted the club because the credit card companies have not released most (or all) of that sale to HMFC.

    Very informative.

If Craig Whyte has done one thing it is that whoever operates in this sphere won't pull their own pants down and lube themselves up in future.

Was waiting on someone that knew a little about this posting this sort of stuff. I read something online along those lines not long ago but can't find the link anymore so didn't want to post info I couldn't back up with print.

Basically the report was to do with clubs on the brink down south having credit card facilities withdrawn when it came to season tickets. The clubs realised this would hit them hard so they ended up negotiating C/C facilities but instead of receiving the whole amount when the purchase was made the C/C companies drip fed the cash to them on fulfilment of the fixtures. If this is how hearts ST's are being handled it would partially explain their confidence(apart from the £2.5M whole in their balance sheet) of being in a better place during the season.

Not just that, they're suggesting paying a small amount by CC and the rest in cash so that they can claim the lot back when the bog is flushed. So, not content with their club living off 'Mr Romanov's' illicit earnings for seven years, they're now encouraging insurance fraud.

Truly a club with no shame.

    Incitement to commit fraud.

Isn't that something the police would be interested in?

That sounds suspiciously like something that might be spun by #allisbarry or some other lapdog as 'Hearts fans having chosen to pay for their STs by instalments'. Wasn't something like that floating about a few days ago? (Floating about, that is, like a fatty, bloodied turd.)

Seen the post on brokeback and wondered what it was about. A couple of weeks ago the admins wouldn't let a guy post a link to the audio of the AGM but fraud on a large scale is encouraged.

His eczema has flared up as well apparently, seems clear to me that this poor misunderstood chap will be unable to stand trial at any stage soon.

Seems like only yesterday he was boxing with Bednar and dancing on the telly, tragic.

If only a pound was paid on the credit card the surely only the pound is insured?
Why would they refund the whole amount?
