Probably. Although the debt he took on has increased and is now owed to (former) interests of the owner. The money claimed to have been put in would comfortably have cleared debt, built a new stadium and put the payroll as easily at the time the third best in the league. Salaries apart no infrastructure promised has materialised and I'm not surprised, bricks and mortar doesn't cut it for him.

Romanov was a nightmare for us Hibs fans at first, a rich guy spending money at the Yams. Turns out it wasn't even his money the cup win in 2012 belongs to the Lith taxpayer more than it does to even the most dyed-in-the-wool Yam.

I'd like to think that if a money man turned up at ER amid all the promises and the debt hadn't been cleared as first port of call then we would smell a rat.

This is possibly hindsight but I'd like to think 1990 gave Hibs fans a scepticism that would allow us to see clearly and evaluate situations for what they are.

Dundee U & Dunfermline smelt the rat. Only the thick desperate Yams didn't!

Wouldn't surprise me. There's a video somewhere with Vlad walking downstairs at Riccarton and as he passes #AllIsBarry he gives him a little pat on the shoulder like he's lap-dog. #AllIsBarry looks so pleased if smugness was released as Carbon we'd be in an Ice-Age as we speak.

Maybe someone has that Vid? Desperate Dan?
Afraid not, I dinnae think I've actually seen that.

Cool, I shall poke around for it when I have time. It's good if you like that little bit of sick in your mouth feeling.

Dunfermline had a very lucky escape! I overheard a business lunch in Kiev involving some of Vlads Scottish suitors that he never took his plans forward with Dunfermline cos The Pars chairman at the times wife didnae want him to stay in Kaunas overnight after a meeting with Vlad, so, he didnae go over.

"Wilson was paraded last week after leaving Liverpool and the 21-year-old admitted he sought assurances from the Hearts hierarchy over the club’s financial future before penning a deal.

Just over a week later it has, however, emerged there are fresh concerns the club could enter administration over the unpaid tax bill."

I can't believe they would have lied to him.

Perhaps wait till it's all done and dusted and have a thread in honour of all the people who brought about their demise.
People like Foulkes and Mackay should not be left out. There are lots of people involved and all their contributions should be recognised.
Another epic Desperate Dan picture-thread looms!

We'll have the thread when the go pop. Just a wee taster for now

1 George 'pishy breeks fatty' Foulkes

Romanov represents the hope for the future of hearts and I urge the clubs major shareholders not to price the Lithuanian banker out of a deal, otherwise "they'll never be forgiven by the fans"
I've dealt with Romanov. I've had two meetings with him. He and his people are very positive. Everything they've said they'll do, they've done. They're straightforward and they've got the money behind them
Other peoples money but never mind eh!

    2 Leslie Deans

The future is bright under Vlaimir Romanov, the club has strong leadership and we are fortunate to have a man like Vladimir

Considering it's Fatty Foulkes you should change the colour of water to yellow.

While you're at it you can add Gary Locke with a snorkel.

They don't do irony in eh11 but if they did then it would be great to read after hearts get pumped by Pompey or Coventry given the cheating similarities

Bolton Wanderers drop QuickQuid pay-day loan firm sponsor

Bolton Wanderers Football Club have dropped plans to be sponsored by pay-day loan company QuickQuid after fans protested against the move.

The club said it had taken the decision after "feedback" from fans and discussions with "local and national politicians".

A petition against the Championship club's two-year sponsorship deal received almost 4,500 signatures.

The club will now be sponsored by Bolton-based energy company FibrLec.

The team's kit will carry its logo along with the Bolton University logo, as the firm grew from the university.

In a statement, the club said: "Whilst we anticipated some negative responses from the initial agreement, we underestimated the adverse reaction to the sector of business in which the sponsor operated".

A protest attended by fans and Bolton West MP Julie Hilling was held outside Bolton Town Hall after the QuickQuid deal was announced.

The MP said the pay-day loan industry "exploits vulnerable people who need ready money".
