No attempt at any analysis in that scotsman article. It justs pumps out exacyly what homfc want them to print, ie "give us your money".

    Lazy, shoddy, embarrassing.
It read like a yam advertisement/appeal.

I find it remarkable that the yams still hail Vlad as some kind of God. If someone had done to my club what he has done to theirs I would want them bloody hung! Yes he bought them 2 scottish cups but the club are crippled and facing extinction, was 2 cups really worth it?!

He has lied to the mutants for years and all they have done is swallow his every word regardless of how insane and ridiculous his lies are. Wheres the massive multi-plex stadium he promised? or the world cup stars? or the SPL title? or the Champions league title?

sad thing is that they all still live in the fantasy world he created!

they never fail to amaze me with their delusion!
A few guys stated at the start of Vlad's tenure that his PR had similarities to how Facism works. The anti-outsider (us) rhetoric, the portrayal of himself as an invicible, strong leader and the promises of "Jam tomorrow". It is in fact how facism works and is all a big con, a very powerful con though.

Vlad learnt all his propaganda skills from the Soviet era KGB - he's had them hook, line and sinker ever since.

And while I don't think we would have been quite so supine - I'd bet if a rich foreigner came along promising champions league football and the Scottish cup there would be plenty of Hibs fans willing to give him the benefit of the doubt - you only have to look at the regular calls to 'break the bank' for (fill in the blank) to see how football fans crave success.

Facebook and Twitter awash with yams claiming Romanov is a genius. Incredible. You couldn't make it up! I can't believe they can't see what the rest of Scottish football can.
I sometimes think its just us that sees it. All the journos are afraid to tell it as it is or they miss the point entirely. Have any of them come out and criticised the yam hordes for their loyalty to Romanov or failure to protect their own club? Spineless

Richard Gordon said on Sportsound that after a thorough investigation by Blobbo (I know ) 80% of the seasons were paid for with credit cards. I don't know the ins and outs of how the credit card companies forward the money but is this a 60/90 day settlement period?
I thought credit card facilities had been withdrawn at Hearts. A long time ago, due to their financial state.

Perhaps that fud Cowan should have a go at writing an article on that very topic instead of having a dash at Hibs fans for having the temerity to give their team vocal backing in a Cup Final.

There's a big element of "dog bites man" in the reporting of Hearts now. Most of the journos won't get that interested unless something new happens. Plus a lot of them criticised him years ago for other stuff and feel like criticising him now is like flogging a dead horse.

Probably. Although the debt he took on has increased and is now owed to (former) interests of the owner. The money claimed to have been put in would comfortably have cleared debt, built a new stadium and put the payroll as easily at the time the third best in the league. Salaries apart no infrastructure promised has materialised and I'm not surprised, bricks and mortar doesn't cut it for him.

Romanov was a nightmare for us Hibs fans at first, a rich guy spending money at the Yams. Turns out it wasn't even his money the cup win in 2012 belongs to the Lith taxpayer more than it does to even the most dyed-in-the-wool Yam.

I'd like to think that if a money man turned up at ER amid all the promises and the debt hadn't been cleared as first port of call then we would smell a rat.

This is possibly hindsight but I'd like to think 1990 gave Hibs fans a scepticism that would allow us to see clearly and evaluate situations for what they are.

Perhaps wait till it's all done and dusted and have a thread in honour of all the people who brought about their demise.
People like Foulkes and Mackay should not be left out. There are lots of people involved and all their contributions should be recognised.

There does appear to have been a lack of journalistic rigour in relation to Hearts though, it has to be said. You would think the (allegedly) shady goings-on at Tynecastle over recent times would be a goldmine for hacks but most either don't seem to know anything or appear unwilling to stick their neck out.

Not really. And even if there was something genuinely shocking there, at the end of the day it is only Hearts and therefore only really of interest to (most) Scottish football fans.

I think the media get their knickers in a twist over a lot less. No ones asking for Panorama and Dispatches to get the fine tooth combs out but a few searching questions from journos covering them wouldn't go amiss.

I'm reliably told that journalists that cover Hearts (Banderson, Brian mclaughlin et al) are "well looked after". The rest haven't been ablt to get close enough for the last few years to even begin digging. Hearts are notoriously difficult to deal with outside of the "circle". The difference between them and Rangers is that Green and Whyte liked to give it the "big I am" so would give interviews to anyone who would listen.

Wouldn't surprise me. There's a video somewhere with Vlad walking downstairs at Riccarton and as he passes #AllIsBarry he gives him a little pat on the shoulder like he's lap-dog. #AllIsBarry looks so pleased if smugness was released as Carbon we'd be in an Ice-Age as we speak.

Maybe someone has that Vid? Desperate Dan?

I understand it is hard for journos especially local ones but if you go too far the other way that should also hurt your credibilty. When guys like VR go down they won't be calling Barry to give him the scoop.

    And #allwasbarry

He very carefully avoided having a go at the Hibs support. Still, it was written to wind the Hibs support up - so he's fair game.
