Maybe the 1.7 million is the rough shortfall for the next 3 months wages. This would see them maybe through until the end of january in the hope of dramatically reducing the wage budget ie having no one except their youngsters.

Obviously only speculating (and hoping :p) but i think the numbers may roughly line up.

The simple facts are we are on our own and will have to do the best we can with what we have and what we can generate. Even if that means renaming Tynecastle the Wonga Stadium or something else as equally tacky for a few years to earn some extra dosh.
