Watch one of the greatest games of all time . It's the full game so make sure you got a few hours and without giving to much away you got to watch it all (don't just skip till the end).

I hope you're being funny and not incredibly dense

Last year, the cheapest season ticket at Foxborough would have cost $890, with an extra supplement paid up front if you want that to include any potential playoff games. Most expensive tickets for the best seats are around $1700.

As an aside, I notice there's a 90 year waiting list to become a ST holder in Green Bay - the longest in the NFL!

I must be missing something painfully obvious
The prices your talking about are more in the region of what I thought an NFL season ticket would cost

So the cheapest ticket at Lambeau field would be $690 dollars this year, as opposed to $670 last year, assuming a $2 increase.

The figures in the article are used as a "per game" to calculate the overall season ticket, based on 10 regular home games per season.

I think I misread your post and the article first time around, so you're not missing anything

Ah its per game that was catching me out, I knew I was missing something. Still $690 seems good value to me

Resign on a lower wage maybe? It happens.

Patriots announce Guard Stephen Neal has retired.

Noooooooooooooo, not AJ . Surprised at that but no doubt he will be fine in the long run. Seems a lot of teams are cutting their cloth, including us.

Fantastic! It's really weird that you post that up tonight of all nights, as I'm sitting reading it in my UConn Huskies hoody!

I did my Masters at UConn on the Hartford Campus (which is where the Burton Practice complex is based - it's truly a sight to behold).

They're the only team I have proper mixed emotions when they face up with Michigan - still not sure I could pick between them actually!
i saw some of it on SSN and they did a phone interview, i thought i would have a look and the vid was class

Might as well keep this thread going for another year as it's looking ever more likely that we'll be getting a lockout. Fighting over a measly $9 billion

Players Union has "decertified" - basically the players can individually sue the owners if they enforce a lockout next season. As it stands you should all look forward to enjoying watching your college teams come the start of next season!

Was reading about this earlier, having watched something about it briefly on Sky Sports News over the weekend.

I can't see the league letting it get to the point of there being no NFL next year. It's worth FAR too much money to not only the league, but the American economy as a whole!

I was a bit disappointed to note that Tom Brady appears to be spearheading the legal drive against the league and the Patriots under this "anticompetitive" argument, stating that they can't maximise their personal revenue.

Robert Kraft gave Brady a contract worth $48.5 million and I personally wish he wasn't taking a lead in this.

    Very disappointing indeed.

The 82 strike-shortened season was 9 games IIRC. Its very possible the same thing will happen again. Greedy players misusing the great institution of a trades union.

The NFL was nowhere near as profitable in the early 80's though.

It's worth too much money to the owners and NFL commission to let the season be shortened/cancelled.

The players greed will be appeased to benefit the greater good and the owners/league will just have to suffer. Sadly, I can't see any other outcome.

I hope you're right, i'd hate another season of bussed in canadian strikebreaker players or a shortened season.

  23. #772
You guy's ever seen the film the Replacements? If the strike does go ahead what's the chances of something like that happening?
Also what have Reebok had to say. It's the last year of their sponsorship and can't believe they can be happy at the loss of revenue they will occur if there is no season. Still should mean theres plenty of cheap jersey's going about .

    Chad Ochocinco

He's quit the NFL to play in the MLS. Apparently he's quite good and is on trial with Kansas. Can't help but think European clubs have missed a trick if he's as good as they say. Think of the profile they'd get in the US.

    Found this pretty funny...

“Due to the NFL lockout, I’m excited to be able to follow my childhood dream of playing for a Major League Soccer team,” Ochocinco said.

Brooks Peck of the Yahoo Sports soccer blog Dirty Tackle did a little math: “Keep in mind that MLS is just 16 years old and Ochocinco is 33,” so Ochocinco couldn’t have had that “dream” until he was 17"

Unless they are a very bright young talent, they must have played 75% of their countries last competitive qualifiers/tournament game IIRC. Of course a superstar player may be let in when his career is on the slide but not a 33yr old making his first season!

Apparently Kobe Bryant is also awesome at football, grew up or spent some time in italy as a youngster, loves the game.
