I don't wish this to start another "car-crash" debate, merely having a whinge...
I left Aberdeen tonight at 5:45pm, and was moving towards Dundee very comfortably, with no hold ups - all of a sudden, I see a few cars in front slamming their brakes on and the hazards clicking on. I slowed to a stop, knowing a crash/breakdown or something was wrong up ahead.
Police walked back and forth alongside the cars for about an hour - eventually I found out there had indeed been a bad (fatal possibly) smash, and the road was closed, with nowhere to divert to!
Eventually, the police had cleared the road and allowed traffic to drive by - my annoyance of having to wait in the queue quickly changed to a horrible lump in the stomach, as I drove past the wreckage - a car had attempted to pull out onto the A90 from a small restaurant just off the main road, and obviously failed to see the massive artic lorry which cannoned into the driver side of the door - the car was barely recognisable as a car.
Anyway, half 8, and that's me just in - but I least I'm getting home tonight![]()

Evening Commute
It's hard to stitch my own back with these shaky hands
But even harder to accept the scars you left were planned

Doesn't sound good, especially if the truck hit the driver's side full on.

Horrific, as you say glad to get home alive at times. I was driving (being driven actually) a few years go from Lagos up to a place called Ibadan to visit one of my contracts. Usually took about two hours. One of the best roads in Nigeria (not saying a lot!!) a dual carriageway basically. Anyway, on the way back came round a steep bend to see total carnage in front of us. A petrol tanker had overturned, probably going round the bend too fast, and landed on top o a mini bus that must hav been crammed with people. There were pieces of body scattered everywhere. Not nice. perfectly honest I told he driver to cross to the other side of the carriageway and get round it and get the hll out of there sharp sharp.

Sounds like the same sort of carnage my mate had to clean up after the suicide on the east coast main line earlier this week, what a job that must be!
