After the the banks made a mess of everything , most people have tightend there belts ,making do ,no holidays abroad this year
( maybe later on see how it gos ) lets save a bit just to be on the safe side ,get an extra few bob in the old bank account .
Boom MPs at it ,moats getting cleaned dog food bought , light bulbs bought and fitted ,lawnmowers repaired, houses flipped , TVs , and all the rest of it MPs voting on bills restricting the knowledge of what they have been up to and what we have every right to know as we are paying for it .
My questions are as follows .
Is our country ever going to recover from this dishonesty, from Fred's little pension to The Speaker of the House going to get a vote of no confidence its alleged he may have been at it Tam and the £18,000 bookcases ,how can an MP with 3 months to go possibly think that he should be investing £18,000 of tax payers money on 2 bookcases.

Its across all parties there are loads of honest hardworking MPs out there who have been tarred with the same brush.
So when the canvasing starts and you get the old rat a tat tat on the door and the opening line of Good evening sir/ modom I represent the whatever party will you be voting for us .
All the questions about schooling , old age pension social and economic problems ,the trams policing will all these questions be put on the back burner and will you simply ask
Can you be trusted, are you a diddler, have you ever diddled ,
are you likely to diddle in the future , have you been involved with someone who has been convicted and brought to account for diddling offences .
Is this the tip off the iceberg or is there more underneath should they all resign,and be prosecuted ,how far back should they go 20,30, years it must have been going on for donkeys , all of them should be taken to task for the fraud & theft of public funds , when the taxman comes to your shop business to audit your monies he does everything apart from look up your smokey and god help you if your out a couple of quid or you cant account for whatever , will the same rules apply for
The Honourable Gentlemen or will the dishonest devious bar-steward from wherever get what he /she really deserves .

There should be an Election right now because as you have rightly said there are good MPs out there from all parties but as usual the minority spoil it for the majority. Just my take on things but Labour will take the hardest hit form the expenses row because they are the party in power. As a Tory voter I knew this was going to be a massive story when it hit the headlines but even I have been shocked to the core about where the tax payers money has gone. A lot of the money has been used to keep the Tory's MPs in luxury in there country Estates, cleaning out there moats, new plumbing pipes under tennis courts and even repairing one MPs heli-pad and I haven't mentioned the Flipping of 1st and 2nd homes which is a national scandal and should be stopped right now. Have an Election and lets rid ourselves off these parasites because watching BBC's Question Time the other night it erupted into flames of fury and for all my responsible and citizenly fears about the peril to democracy of inflated feeling, there was a purging quality in that fire. The housing minister, Margaret Beckett, the fool, kindled it with her excuse about members being “very busy” so “mistakes” get made (yeah right) and above all her incautious suggestion that ordinary people don't “understand” this business about MPs and money.

Cue panto shrieks: “Oh yes we do!”

The green book says that MPs expenses must relate to Parliamentary work and must not damage the Parliaments reputation. What these erseholes have been doing is fraud pure and simple, and is no different to benefit fraud. I would suggest the two who have claimed for mortgages, that have already been paid up, have committed fraud for starters. As Delia would say "Lets be having them"!

Heard on Talksport friday from a top policeman that as a member of the public all you have to do is write a letter to the head of of the police in your area and ask them to investigate your local MP suspecting them of fraud. The police have a duty to investigate any accusation of this kind, so get letter wtiting and spill the beans on your local MP.

Ah, was THAT it? I thought there was something fishy about the idea that Martin would have claimed for bookcases. Tam would need them for all the remaindered copies of his political testament "Tam Dalyell - Fifty Years Away Wi the Fairies".


I was listening to BBC Scotland this morning, and who should come along but Lord George the Gross, Laird of the PBS, defending the Goon Martin. According to Lord George poor old Martin has been striving strenuously to reform the House's practices in the matter of expenses for years, only to be foiled by the evil Lib-Dems and people like Kate Hoey.

Enter stage left, one Kate Hoey MP. Asked about George's haverings, her unsurprising answer is that the drunken old fool was lying in his rotten teeth again. (Well, she didn't quite put it like that, but that was the gist of what she said. She said it a little more nicely than I've just done.)

And George is still saying this in spite of one of the Goon's own aides (John Stonborough) telling us that when someone asked the Goon about his claims on his second home (in Glasgow) when he had a grace-and-favour residence inside the Palace of Westminster at tax-payers' expense, the Goon "exploded with rage".

"He said the Speaker took control of the rules on expenses and allegedly personally edited the key 2004 edition of the Green Book on parliamentary allowances – thus squandering the opportunity to clean up the system. The rules approved then are at the heart of the current scandal. 'We should not have to watch the humiliation of him being voted out of office,' Stonborough said." (Times Online, yesterday)

It appears that not only is there a strong suggestion that the Goon Martin's snout was well-jammed in the trough, but tht he was making mighty efforts to ekeep the trough open and available to other swill-guzzlers as well.

Now I have not a lot of time for Kate Hoey, less for the Lib-Dems, and none at all (usually) for The Daily Torygraph or even The Times, but I find it more than a little amusing that none of these fat swill-guzzlers seem to be able to get their heads round the fact that when a newspaper comes out with revelations of huge sums of money vanishing into the ever-open pockets of our Westminster representatives, the first thing the Speaker of the House does in the matter should NOT be to set PC Plod on the track of the mole who leaked the info?

PC Plod's job in this situation is surely to set up an investigation into how many of those said swill-guzzlers are eligible for free accommodation in Wormwood Scrubs.

I see that PC Plod is now accusing the Goon Martin of being less than truthful in his statement to the Commons after the Damien Green affair - saying that he DID know the polis search was done without a warrant. David Davis is now after the records under the Freedom of Information Act.

You couldn't make it up.
