I happened to be in Hay Drive yesterday dropping my daughter at a birthday party. Her pal lives about 20 yards from one of the firebombed houses.
It's quite sobering to see it up close. We aren't talking a few burn marks on the door and a bit of soot on the outside wall. The house is literally half gone. Roof is completely off and burned out, windows are all burnt out and boarded up, part of the front wall has collapsed and the smoke damage is visible.
One of the other parents who was picking a kid up knows the next door neighbour, semi detached house, and they have severe smoke and water damage. The family who were having the party has to be evacuated from their house at silly o'clock in the morning when it all kicked off. That's no way for anyone to be living.
If drug dealers want to kill each other then carry on. The absolute scourge of schemes and communities and the world is better without them but there is far too much collateral damage. It might not be deaths yet but that going on a couple of doors down has an impact. People are entitled to feel safe in their beds at night rather than being caught up in a long running dick measuring contest.
