Agreed, Gayle was just giving a run of the mill light weight interview and saying any old thing.

Gayle and Hoilett are both doing well since reverting to 20 minute sub roles. Both good signings by Mackay and I believe both were recruited to get us through this season only. I wouldn't give them new contracts. Reasons are two fold.

Firstly age, Gayle will be 36 early next season and Hoilett will be 35 just after this season ends.
Secondly player wage budget. We can't keep everyone. If you keep both that's probably 2 less players you can recruit.

However, Hibs staff will know best re their fitness levels, injury and medical issues and if either player are offered another deal I will be good with that.
