It was tricky wingers. McGeady regularly tore him a new one. I remember 1 game in particular at Easter Road where he made him look ridiculous. He then went off and Maloney came one and carried on in the same vein
McGeady was quick though. Quick step over, knock it 15 yards and beat you for pace. However that was about 15 years ago. I can’t remember one winger in Whitts latest spell with us that turned him inside out, however there were a few that beat him hands down for pace and he struggled. His legs still hadn’t gone, he’s never been blessed with masses of pace and even less so now, he should never have been chucked in at right back. When he played centre half and then centre midfield he was very good and still had the legs to get around the park.
