Thought I'd give this it's own thread instead of tacking it on to the Hibs Women one.
Maybe not a huge amount of interest without Scotland involved but my daughter and her pals are well up for it and I really enjoyed this tournament last time round as well as the subsequent World Cup.
Can't see England being strong enough to win it again. They have a really tough group.
Germany look like favourites to me.
Brilliant travelling Welsh support for their game against the Netherlands just now.

Dont really follow the ladies game to be honest apart from keeping an eye on Hibs ladies results and knowing a couple of the girls that play for my local club Chesterfield.
I did hear Wales had sold more tickets for this than any other nation other than hosts Switzerland. Fair play.

Netherlands rightly ahead, and could be tough for Wales if the Dutch have been given a half time talk telling them to wake up.
Mais, plus important, allez Les Bleues ce soir!Last edited by Glory Lurker; 05-07-2025 at 05:40 PM.

Weigman's a terrific coach but I think they're really up against it this time round.

France been very efficient in this 1st half. Playing with confidence and worth the 2 nil lead

Poor first half from England. France well worth their lead and Cascarino running riot.

England had a better balance in the latter stages, but the team that started just never looked at ease.
The team which won the Euros was a very good one but I think they'd peaked by the World Cup, even though they got to the final.
Currently they look a bit of a team in transition with some of the old guard a bit off the pace and the younger ones not quite finding their feet.
Earps is a big miss in goal I think.
Not sure they'll get past the group stage.

I watched part of Sweden v Poland last night, if I'm being honest I wasn't particularly impressed with the quality on show, even though Sweden won comfortably and have gone above Germany in the group. There are some really good national teams, but I'd very surprised if Sweden get anywhere near the final. That means they probably will now!

England 2-0 up v Netherlands. They're playing very well. I'd written them off after their feeble display against France but maybe I was wrong.
Heading down to ER now so won't see the second half.

4-0 England. I didn't see that coming.
Should be enough to get them through provided they beat Wales.
