If you get the best of him you are laughable but that’s a big ‘If ‘ much like it is with Porto too . Is it worth gambling with the harmony and togetherness that we have in this squad now ? . I’m not sure it is ….

How do you know this is the case with these players? Is
It an opinion based on what you observe during games, in other words the same as the rest of us or do you have access to training sessions, dressing room etc that is giving you a more indepth insight? Whilst Porteous did make rash tackles from time to time I also felt his name was in lights as far as the refs were concerned. Nisbet does have a sullen demeanour but does this translate to him being a bad character? I honestly don’t know but will trust that if we sign them SDG does and we can put these rumours to bed. I don’t feel from the perspective I have as a fan I really have enough info to know. Hopefully Porteous will have matured as he will be an upgrade in terms of ability.

Liam Henderson, Stephen Fletcher or Fraser Murray fit that description.
Should have said in the present squad.

Hope it's 100% accurate! "A permanent return to Hibs seems most likely at present."

Sam Dalby will be at Easter Road soon!*

*Having just signed for Bolton, he will play Vs Hibs in July

Getting to that time that players are beginning to be linked to other clubs and moves happening. Quite quiet for us, both in terms of possible incomers and possible leavers.

Would be good to free up some space too…if so who’s needing moved on?

  9. #3008
any player who's almost done the transfer?

Think some folk are getting carried away with the whole team spirit and character thing. Aye it’s important but it also came about through winning. When you win and get that momentum, everything is better, everyone is happier and so on. When we were getting hammered up at Dens last November nobody was pointing out that the all looked together, had a good spirit and were good characters.

If the team spirit really is good, which it appears to be at the moment, they’ll deal with anyone that steps out of line themselves. If you sign good players, the only folk not happy will be the ones who lose their place. The rest will get on with things because that’s the way football is.
Sorry can’t agree with that. In my opinion the team spirit was forged through adversity, during the bad times at the start of the season. Even when things weren’t going right you could see the players weren’t blaming others even when mistakes were being made. Of course the good streak strengthened the bonds, hence the high fives for every block and clearance. My memory of Porteous is him castigating people for making mistakes despite the fact that he was capable of making a lot of them himself. I wasn’t unhappy when he left. He may have matured but I wouldn’t want to take the risk. As for Nisbet I always thought he was a bit ‘meh’ so wouldn’t be clamouring for his return either.

I don’t , they are merely concerns I have as a fan based on what I thought since we had both players before .. As I said there’s no doubting either player’s ability though on Nisbet first .

When we signed him I had read the Pars forum some of them stating he would be wanting away before to long and it definitely felt to me like he wanted away early doors and when the move to Birmingham was rejected it just felt like there was a bit of unrest behind the scenes in I just always had the feeling he wanted away and when he did go I genuinely thought it was a good thing in we could move on from having a player that didn’t seem entirely happy which isn’t probably the best thing to have in your squad.

Now after he did get his move the fans at his current club are now questioning his attitude with rumours of being late for training , fitness issues and not showing the right attitude which is why 59 % of them on a poll are wanting him binned because of these issues. We are just after signing a keeper that the club he was at before us have praised him which I think is telling not only about the guy’s ability but also the type character he is too.

Porteous , rash tackles , off field issues and quite frankly thought the last few months before he left with the shouting at other players etc wasn’t good at all . There is grounds for a debate on who is the better defender in Rocky or Porteous as I know some fans rate Porteous highly but as to who has the better character and attitude I don’t really think there’s any doubts there whatsoever . Anyhow like you I trust Gray as well which is why I would be surprised if he was looking at either player , considering the money they’d cost and what they’d both be wanting in wages I think we’d probably have a lot of other good options available to us out there we could look at signing instead . 👍

I really can't see Porteous coming back. Gray played with him enough to know he can't be trusted. Stupid bookings, failure to take the blame for mistakes. Completely goes against the team spirit the current squad have developed over the season.
Kind of where i am and let's face it if he had been a success down south there's no way he would even be linked to us right now. Id prefer we look at other options. Scott McKenna would be a better option if we could tempt him

Good reply.. Nisbet does look miserable and a bit spoiled at times. Only met him once when my son was a mascot and he was great. Just saw Doku gesticulating wildly at his teammates with a face like fizz.. hope we don’t sign him. 😂

Watching the Belgium v Wales game, a guy called Arthur Theate coming on as a sub for Belgium, surely got to sign him on name alone!

Theyve definitely set the dial to Kilmarnock and its stuck there. They're really going to be having another go at being bottom six champions again

Sounds like Del and the Analytics are getting the old band together......

    What are the odds!!!

Ex manager all the data in the servers and they land on Stuart Findlay!

Findlay isn’t exactly imaginative but McInnes will do better with that type of player than what the computer throws up for him I reckon. Not seen anything from them so far that has me particularly fearful of them.

Findlay is a good centre half tbf, will do well for them.

They’re signing a shed loads of players, if it wasn’t for the JTA they’d be getting compared to our recruitment strategy when we ended up with Kenneh, Jair etc..

The likes of us will never really understand how massive big teams use this technology to trawl the world for a manager, land on bottom six Kilmarnock's manager, then repeat the process for a top defender and the analytics landed in Ayrshire again.

It must be some kind of hot spot.

I think Jamestown will shortly tell Hearts to buy up all the Killie pies and I'm sure their chief executive and everyone's favourite jambo journalist will be drooling at the prospect.

They signed Findlay first then to hoodwink the flumps, stuck his name on bits of paper inside Savage's top hat then got Mrs doctor Budge to pull the lucky ticket out.

Wonder if we will hear how Jamestown identified the player using the game changing analytics and was the standout candidate during their search for a CH.

So as it stands they have 7 CH’s (unless they’ve released a few) vying for a couple of places.

Steinwender and McCart (top JTA targets) must fear for their places?
