A small team of volunteers are trying to create a short biography of Hibs players and others involved with the club in the first 25 years.
We need volunteers to do the research of the individuals.
We hope to get as many biographies ready before the end of our 150th and then hand them over to Hibs Historical Trust to organise free online access.
To get the pilot project started, we aim to focus on players from 1875 to 1877 and our Scottish cup winning team from the 1886-87 season.
We will then expand it to the other 200 or so player and others involved with our amazing early years history.

Sounds fantastic mate, I love all the early years stuff, but if you don't mind me asking, what sort of research would you be asking for?
Detailed information can be hard to come by for people in the 1800s, most of whom I imagine have been dead for over a century now.
I'm very interested anyway.

Update:
Just a short update on progress with the Hibernian Biographies project.
We first appealed for help with the project through Auld Hibs on 3rd June. We now have four volunteers administering the project and supporting the volunteer biographers. Currently, we have ten definite volunteer biographers and another five who have expressed an interest in getting involved.
We agreed to focus on the 1875-1877 players and the Scottish Cup winning side of 1887 plus any relevant early years non-players. This totalled 48+
We are pleased to report that there are 18 biographies that are works in progress or have been completed, leaving 30 more to tackle. Once this is near completion , we will move on to the next phase and try to have as many biographies completed as possible before the end of our 150th year.
Anyone who wants to get involved or would more information, please contact [email protected].
