I was tempted by that one when it first came up for sale.

Not easy to get custom plates in Germany because the first letters of the registration number show which area the vehicle is registered in. I'm going to have to move to Hildesheim who have HI as an area designation. I've done my best on my current vehicles though:

Mercedes GLB registered in Heidelberg HD-HB1875

    Mercedes V-Klasse registered in Teltow-Fläming TF-HI8335

Toyota Aygo registered in Teltow-Fläming TF-HI8507

    Caravan registered in Teltow-Fläming TF-HB1875

An old school mate of mine author of Fitba Daft and Pilton Keelie both good Hibby reads lived in Virginia USA and at one time you were allowed to pick your own number plate so needless to say he picked HIBS FC

He was forever getting stopped and being asked what is this Hibs FC ?

Not Hibs related, but the best number plate I've seen was on a car escorting a lorry with a wide load: W111 DDE

Sounds plausible, it was in the Buckingham Terrace and Belgrave Crescent area. My morning paper run in the early 1970s.

I mentioned this on the other number plates thread but when we were in Munich, my wife registered my car as MCN 1875 (MCN referring to my surname).

    It was a nice surprise

EDIT: Just found a photo we took of it. Yes, it had been snowing a bit...
