Well I’d be more than happy for him to have a wee 2nd half appearance towards the end of todays game and score the winner
Dream scenario, can you imagine! What a start to his Hibs career that’d be 😁

What’s been verdict on Allan Campbell’s spell at Dundee Utd? I noticed he was an unused sub against St Johnstone was hooked before the hour mark against Hearts.

There was a lot of teeth gnashing on here that we didn’t sign him in January, should be in for him in the summer?
He’s been poor for them according to the Utd fans.

Did they say in commentary that Nicky Devlin is out of contract at the Dons?

Tbf I was one that really wanted Allan Campbell, always thought he was a really good player.

Doesn’t seem to have hit it off at United.

Shows how hard recruitment can be.

Paton at United is another that a lot wanted and doesn’t seem to have done great

If he isn’t good enough for Aberdeen then he shouldn’t be a player we are looking at

I would have no problem in trying to resurrect his career with a cheeky bid if SDG likes him, he wouldnt be the first player to struggle to settle at a new club in a new midfield (Dylan Levitt anyone?).

But if we want help in that position id prefer Josh Mulligan from Dundee if his performance against us is anything to go by. At 22 hes also4 years younger than Campbell.

Is that all it is, failing to settle at his new club? He’s currently at his 4th club in the last 12 months that’s he’s failed to establish himself in.

I think he’ll go south, he would be much cheaper for teams outwith Scotland.

As in the development fee would be less for an English team? Or because they tend to have more money to spend?

If its the former how daft is that! We should be trying to trying to keep our best young players up here

Like i say, i have faith that our team can make that decision. Mulligan looks a better bet to me but Campbell was excellent not that long ago in that midfield with David Turnbull (now at Cardiff(.

Moving outwith Scotland, the buying club would only have to pay the development fee as calculated by FIFA’s Training Compensation framework. Looking at the online calculator FIFA provide, the fee would be about £300k.

Moving to another Scottish Club, the buying team would need to agree a development fee with the selling club, should the clubs fail to agree then a fee would be set by a tribunal plus associated legal costs on top of that.

Is there any good reason why we don’t just set a ruling that we use FIFA’s Training Compensation framework .. that seems anyone can see and use … and stop chucking money down the drain in Scottish football, with tribunals and legal fees ? Is it usual SFA soaking up cash for themselves and cronies that would suffer ? Or is there a good reason we don’t ?

FIFA requires all member associations to have their own rules in place for domestic training compensation. It’s rare it even ends up in a tribunal. The only examples I can think of off the top of my head are the recent Connor Barron transfer and Charlie Telfer joining Dun Utd from Rangers in 2014.

Media article today where the Auckland coach said that goalkeeper Alex Paulsen who pulled off a ‘world class’ save on the weekend has reached a stage where needs to play in a stronger league.

He went on to say that he doesn’t know for sure where he will be playing next season, but it won’t be at Auckland.

I’d like to see him at Easter Road next season, but due to his form I wouldn’t be totally surprised if he goes straight to Bournemouth either.

Several Championship clubs reported to be taking a look, Hull, Middlesbrough, West Brom and Blackburn to name but 4 in an article I read. Think his head is turned for a move down south.

Bournemouth are signing Udinese’s goalkeeper apparently.

Don't know much about Paulsen but I'd be a bit surprised if he went straight from the A League to unseating Kepa at Bournemouth so I'd imagine he'd be out on loan somewhere.

Kepa is on loan from Chelsea so they will be in the market for another keeper.

Mind you he might end up back there but the poster above has said they were looking at a keeper from Udinese.

Declan Gallagher to leave Dundee Utd at the end of the season after not being offered a new contract. 36 appearances for Dundee Utd this season.
